I've had this story for a while, reading through it is not that great. I'm was unsure whether to post it up however I'd thought I'd share anyway. Do tell me if it sinks I would appreciate it.

Tensions were on the rise in Jeevika and Viren's marriage, yet no one tried to help as help was always shot down. Marital problems should be left to a husband and wife to sort out. Jeevika and Viren had been married for three years but they were dating for three years before marriage. They had argued many times and were known for their fights but this was larger than any other before.

Two weeks ago is when it all started. Everything was going well in both aspects of life: personal and professional. Jeevika and Viren worked within the same company and often cases.

Jeevika was sitting with a client in hers and Viren's office. He was Naman's lawyer while Jeevika was his therapist. It was a divorce case; a husband was leaving his wife for infidelities before their marriage, but during their relationship. They had briefly separated during this time giving his wife the excuse. Due to the circumstances, settling their problems would be a better solution. They had gone through counselling yet he could not forgive his wife.

They had just had a final counselling session and his anger was bubbling. Jeevika sat in her chair, while Naman sat on the sofa in her office,
"Naman look, I've been working with you for the last few months in trying to resolve things with your wife. I know you love her and that she made a huge mistake but she has admitted it to. She didn't try to lie her way through the issue, but now it is up to you. You have to try and save your marriage, you have to fight for it. You cannot just give up. I know that's not what you want." Naman just sat there, he had heard this all before but his anger over the issue couldn't be lessened, the deceit was too large. He leant forward and took a deep breath,
"Look, I'm gonna break one of my rules today, to tell you something personal, something I have never told anyone. I think it is the only way to explain this to you.

Sometimes we think it is easier just to leave, if we just leave and turn our backs then our problem is gone and we can start a fresh. I did that once. I was married once before, when I was young, just out of college. He was my first love and marriage was right, but then soon enough he did something. Something dumb, stupid, and hurtful. Instead of dealing with it, I left. I left him. Yet even though today I'm happy with my life, with Viren, I can't often help to think what would have happened if I had just stuck around. I cut out and ran when things got a little hard, but do you really want to live with the regret of what if? What if I had stuck it out? What if I had heard her? Do you want to build a life of regrets?"

As she peered towards the clock, she saw Viren standing by the door waiting for Naman. He excused himself, leaving Jeevika reeling in her own confession.

That night the room was silent. Neither Viren nor Jeevika spoke about anything. Viren simply could not deal with it. Every morning was the same; Viren ignored Jeevika on every possibility. He did not want to look at her. After all these years, she had kept him in the dark about her past.

He had met Jeevika six years ago through common friends. This was the time when he was working his way in the legal world. She had seen him through that struggle but then to be honest he was too busy to really take a real interest in her past. All he really cared about was the present and the future. Being together now, getting good cases so some day he could make partner. They spoke every none working moment; he would have been around her flat. Even if he was on the phone with a client. To be honest he didn't care, all he cared about was being with her. Without even realising, he had pretty much moved into her flat and from then on, they were together.

Jeevika was sitting on the sofa when the doorbell rang. Maanvi had come to visit her sister. She tightly hugged her before grabbing a cup of coffee and falling onto the couch. They sat on the sofa towards each other, discussing Jeevika's marital problems.
"How's Jiju reacting to it?"
"He's being twat. Honestly, I get it. I didn't tell him, but he sits there and ignores me and if he does decide to talk to me, he's just curt."

"Where is he? I'll talk to him, straighten him out a bit. It's been a while since I slammed him," Maanvi had once given Viren the riot act when he once lost his temper and was shouting about their family whilst Jeevika and Viren were having an argument.

Jeevika chuckled, "Don't bother, you know what he's like. He's not going to listen anyway especially as it's our problem. We will get there. Unless I don't kill him before hand. Anyway, he's not here. He's gone out," she popped down her drink on the coffee table.

"Out, out where? Not with Virat?"
Jeevika nodded and Maanvi dropped her hands in her face. "You're kidding me, I'll kill him. Those two are gonna get drunk," Jeevika nodded again in agreement. "Virat's gonna sit there and play devil's advocate while Jiju downs the drinks. I'll kill him when he gets home. How are you dealing with it though?"
Jeevika sat their quietly and took a sip of her drink, wishing it was wine and not coffee, but she didn't want to go back there. Even though Maanvi knew the truth, and she could make it easier for Viren she couldn't go back there.

Viren stumbles into the room; he quietly tried to shut the door. CRASH, the lamp broke down. Jeevika who was reading a book in bed suddenly looked up to see Viren staggering across the place. Trying to compose himself, he glanced over to Jeevika and that all went out of the window. Reaching into his pockets, he threw his keys on the floor. Dropped his wallet onto the coffee table and wondered over in Jeevika's direction.

"I've see you have been out then! Let me guess with your great drinking buddy."
"Well,"
holding into the side table, "I can do what the hell I want, can't I? I don't answer to you, and well you don't either. Otherwise maybe you might have indulged me about this detail earlier." He threw his coat down onto the ground, almost falling himself.
"We're back on this! If you wanna get drunk instead of us dealing with this. That's on you! But I'm not arguing with you in this state." She started to walk away as Viren tried walking towards her and tripped against something.
"You can't even bloody stand! Get drunk! That's what you do best. Win a case - go out drinking. Lose a case - go out drinking. Face a problem, no let's go drinking instead." She chucked the pillow beside her on him which inadvertently made him fall.
"Then why don't you leave! You left one husband right. Apparently things got hard and you left so..." Viren got up from the floor and staggered towards her, as she edged back.
"You broke your vows once, who's stopping you from breaking them again."

************
The next day Viren was not in the office and Jeevika was on a different case than him. She couldn't help to think about him, the harsh words he spoke but maybe there was an ounce of truth. There was a reason why she never told him. That evening, Jeevika wanted to discuss what happened the night before. Viren was working in the kitchen when she entered. She walked over to the fridge and opened a bottle of wine.
"You want a glass?" She questioned him. He refused, to be fair he was still slightly hungover from last night. Exhausted Viren shut the lid of his laptop. He scooped up his work and began to leave.
"Viren."
"Jeevika, I don't want to talk about last night,"
he curtly replied and started to walk away.
"But I do." She sipped her wine.
"I was drunk, forget it,"
"You're honest when you're drunk. You maybe a mean drunk, but honest."
She carried on drinking.
"Do you really think, I'm planning on walking out?" She began to pour the second glass.
"Well you leave your first husband for some apparent insignificant reason. A husband you did have a decency to tell me about! We been together for six years, we have shares so many things- gone though a hell of a lot. Yet this major detail of your life you thought you could disregard. You hate my drinking, yet I still drink. That'sa reason right? Breaking vows doesn't seem something you struggle with."
"And we are back to this; do you even want to know the reason? Or you just going to hate me and punish me without reason,"
"Without reason?!"
He dropped his bag.
"Really? You lied to me for six years and I have no reason. If that's not a reason, what the hell is! I really don't care for the actual reason, the fact of the matter is that you neglected to tell me, then you go and tell a client your inner most secrets. Breaking every rule possible. Think what you want but I have a reason to be pissed!"

"I could make this easier for you by telling you things but I don't want to even go back there, I'll keep trying to come back to you, until you let me. Even if you don't want to know the reason."

"You don't get it. Years ago we met and told each other who we were. We were at in your flat and discussed how we wanted to live our lives. You shared with me how you always wanted to get married with your parents by your side and how them not being able to be a part of your wedding broke you. You confined in me and we became stronger. Yet now I find out its all a lie."
She shrugs and backs away and he comes forward.

"As you had already married without your parents being present. You took those vows, you wore the attire, you did it all once before!" He moved towards her and stretched his arm around her, getting very close.

"Oh and honestly, you think I drink. You've just finished this bottle!"
He lifted the bottle and drank the last drop. She grabbed him, ripped his shirt off, and began kissing him his neck in just the place he likes. He couldn't help himself he grabbed her waist and pushed her closer towards him. He placed his hands around her face and began kissing her, slowly undoing her shirt as she unbuckled his belt. He pushed her against the wall. She had her legs wrapped around him as he began to feel ready. They couldn't as stop, everything they were feeling, all those things that were not said, were still unsaid but their nature had taken over.

The next morning Viren got on with his day usual. He carried out his morning routine and Jeevika came behind in him whilst he was brushing his teeth and gave him a hug and a kiss. He spat out the toothpaste from his mouth, removes her hands and left. Leaving Jeevika bewildered.

How was it? Slate and hate below, all comments are appreciated. Pj

I liked the convos.. very real.. esp btw JV in the end.. even the drunken outburst was bang on.. you brought out his hurt and concerns well..

I am hoping she has a SOLID CASE😆 with her history.. else this lawyer may not suffice.. I generally dont read fictions on IF.. but your title intrigued me..

being a divorce lawyer is tough.. I have seen my bff and her hubby.. (he is a lawyer) and how he struggled with confidentiality when one in the family got in touch with him and he couldn't share with her.. similar common friends situations have cropped up.. But J was being an extreme airhead to confide in a common client.. unless thts how brash and non-prudent you see her in your story LOL.. the outlet of agression that you translated into passion was well expressed.. sometimes words do more harm when instinct put things into perspective..

lets see how u take it from here ... its definitely an interesting plot.. again m waiting on the case she had.. better be strong.. lolll coz man has a point.. once a quitter, always a quitter😆

And you say you weren't sure about posting this? Its amazing! Yes, its very different from our original Virika but its nice to see a different side of them. I got a very hollywood feel while reading it but it was really nice to imagine a working Jeevika who has a lot more to say than the ehmmbh one. I would want to know the reason soon btw. It was fab! 👍🏼

First of all. I don't think it is terribly written.
Yes! I do feel , it is something totally opposite the plot and characters but still it turned out to be good.
I cannot imagine a drunk Viren being rude to jeevika nor can i imagine jeevika being married before.
This is because the charachter Viren and Jeevika can never be like this.Somewhat it is their speciality.
Coming to the story.
Quite interesting but tbh i got confused in the end.
I really think you should continue and reveal about her past so that i can clear my doubts.
Brilliantly penned .
