The level of creative liberty some Indian TV shows take these days is truly mind-boggling. There are countless ways to portray a bratty or antagonistic character—but setting something on fire inside an airport? In the arrivals area? That’s not edgy storytelling, it’s just absurd.
Scenes like this blatantly ignore international aviation regulations. In reality, passengers are thoroughly screened before boarding, and items like open-flame lighters are either strictly regulated or outright banned. Even if someone managed to bring one through, lighting a fire inside an airport would trigger an immediate security response, potentially involving detainment or arrest. It wouldn’t just be brushed off—it would be treated as a serious threat.
Not only does this kind of scene mock basic airport security protocols in India, it also undermines the systems of whatever country the character supposedly flew in from. And yet, this level of exaggeration has become surprisingly common in mainstream Indian television, where logic is often sacrificed for shock value.
It’s baffling—and frankly disappointing—how normalized this kind of over-the-top, unrealistic storytelling has become.
