Let me start with a question.
Why did Ayan meet up with Asad?
Of course, he stormed out of his house and went to his bhaijaan expecting his support. But Asad was helpless because of his word to his ammi...
And very soon Ayan was back at home-back to his old self- strumming his guitar and ready to forgive...
I am NOT criticising Ayan...just wondering WHY THAT SCENE was there, other than for Asad to realise Zoya was hiding Mariam.🤓
It gave us an IMPORTANT insight into Asad- HIS AMMI IS the most important person on earth- even MORE THAN AYAN who is like a PART of himself.
Asad is fiercely protective of his family- his mother and all his siblings. He will go to any lengths to protect them- and on that list of people he wanted to protect was added a name recently- Zoya Farooqui.😳😳😳
Asad has just recovered from the torment of having almost lost Zoya to death- is coming to terms with his feelings- and even appears heartless in his apparent neglect of Mariam- the foremost fear in his mind was that Zoya might get hurt.
He used his family's safety as an excuse to convince Zoya, when in reality, he knew the only threat was to ZOYA herself- HE DESPERATELY WANTED TO PROTECT HER. Hence the urgency to hear the reassurance from Zoya that she had indeed done as directed...and the sense of relief- he could finally breathe easy- she was safe.❤️
(Mariam picked this up too- she gathered that Asad was more worried for Zoya's safety...smart girl!)👏
So, now, Ms. New York has become the reason for the tragedy that befell his loving family.
Ms New York, from whom he has sworn to keep a distance, because he could not face the greatest fear of falling in love- that too with the complete antithesis of what he has believed to be the ideal woman all his life...it is spooky that he'd fall for someone he is supposed to despise. But Asad is IN CONTROL. His heart will listen to the voice of REASON- or so he thought...and any way, this dilemma would go away in a matter of a month- she'd go, right? AND THEN, HE'D BE FREE OF HER FOR ONCE AND ALL!
BUT NOW,
Did that object of his dilemma just put his Ammi on her death bed?
HIS AMMI- HIS ALL...the person he knows he must shield from all the sorrows in the world- for, she has had more than her fair share of that- he was supposed to protect his ammi – and she had been in danger IN THE SAFE HAVEN he had created for her...all because of that...aaarggh...
WHY HAD HE NOT LISTENED TO REASON?
Why had he chosen to be weakened by his heart when his brain kept telling him this girl was up to no good...Hadn't he known things wouldn't be the same when he set his eyes first on her?...He had known SHE WAS TROUBLE!
Where was the justice in all this?
Why hadn't he been strong enough?
Had he, been in a way, responsible for what had happened to his ammi?
