How come same actor makes people swoon in music videos and TV but not in films?

Another example that comes to mind is Mohnish Behl. He was widely popular and acclaimed as Dr. Shashank in Sanjeevani and won many awards. But in Bollywood, after 90s they even kicked him out of the picture as character actor. Girls swooned over him in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge also but he's no longer there even on TV. All this despite belonging to one of the biggest film families in Indian cinema, being son of the greatest actress of her time, and being considerably good looking and talented?

I don't think dedication alone counts because many less dedicated ones also made it and many dedicated ones did not.

Aamir and Kiran are close to Karan Johar. They attend all his parties and invite him to theirs also. Kiran Rao especially is quite friendly with Karan Johar. A Sonam will never make it big because she palpably lacks the drive and motivation to grind on despite failures and misfortune. She seems to be in this industry only because it was expected of him and not out of any deep conviction or passion for the trade. But just like Rohan Gavaskar in spite of being given the whole cricketing world on a platter couldn't conjure up enough mental fortitude and killer instinct, she also appears to lack that sense of desperation or urgency to fight the odds. This is a case with most star kids I believe.. they do not want the glory of success badly enough or not willing to take the bad and the ugly with the good in this industry or want everything to come to them rather than them taking the rough road. Kareena survived in spite of a disastrous first 6-7 years because she just wanted to succeed badly enough. Mental fortitude, patience and a will to press on despite all odds can work wonders sometimes. Talent can only take you so far.

Yeah I remember why he quit the latest serial. But it's odd because the same guy used to do many rape and eve teasing scenes as a villain in 90s! I can't believe he refused intimate scenes in movies also this is why he was never cast as a lead actor. Anyways he did not even last as a character actor after 90s.
