we're studying politcs this year in my school, and so we looked at court cases (supreme court cases) in the U.S. and almost for the past fifty years the majority has been influencing what is constitutional and what is not.

Example: Brown vs. Board of Education (minority wins)

And there are several others that are minority cases that won (such as no requirement to say the pledge of allegiance, etc)

My question is why or are these minority groups influencing our rules and lifestyle more than the majority? and do they have more say in government because of this system?

India as it stands now, minorities have a bigger pull power. The goverment policies from the nehruvian era has been centered towards appeasement of the minorities (muslims in particular) although now the focus has shifted to more or less other religions / castes. If you belong to anything other than a nonreservation hindu , boy india treats you very well .

I'm not aware of the cases u mentioned ,but in general:

Mother emphasises much on weaker kid of hers than rest of her kids. They take special care that the kid does'nt lag behind!!!But in this process there is a danger of normal kid being neglected.Adapt the same concept to a nation. But my question is who is minority? In which way they are less? Why should they be given privilages?

Ok.they treat them as minorities based on some parameters, does it mean the majority people's be neglected!!Only God knows what to do with this type of administrations!!!The politicians, law support minority people just for votes!!!

In Indian all minority brothers and sisters are enjoying majority of rights happily from several decades that's why majority of majority class people are flying to other countries.

Cheers,

In a pure democracy, 51% shuts down the rest of 49%, period. No rights for minority unless provided by majority.
However, United States is a constitutional republic and dedicated to "liberty and justice for all" mantra. Every individual is protected by Bill of Rights and thats why both legislative and judicial branches are separated. Majority elects law makers, but its courts who interpret constitution and intervene if individual rights are violated by legistlators. And thats one of the reasons why we see more Supreme Court cases pertaining to minority rights.
