"What is morality at any given time or place? It is what the majority then and there happen to like and immorality is what they dislike." Alfred North Whitehead
There appears to be no hard and fast definition of morality. Or even if there is, it must have its many exceptions.
But who decides what these are?
If morality is something so fundamental to the life we live, why is it undefined? Why is it left to us to determine its boundaries, yet judgement made by someone else?
Whether watching our favourite drama serials or the latest bollywood blockbuster, the audience often condemns or defends depending on what they feel for the character who does the deed. If they are portrayed as a "good guy" their actions have justification. If they are one of the "bad guys" then their actions cannot be rationalized and the deed only adds to their long list of sins.
Does this mean morality is interpreted according to one's convenience alone? And if that is the case, then what makes one person any less immoral than another?
