Deepika Padukone, who turned 27 on Saturday, had an impromptu birthday bash. The Cocktail actor brought in her birthday along with Ram Leela co-star Ranveer Singh and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali at Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapoor's wedding reception.
Sources say, although invited for the reception hosted by Karan Johar and UTV head Ronnie Screwvala at his Breach Candy home, Padukone and Singh had no plans to attend it as they were busy shooting for their film. However, when the shoot for the day wrapped up at Film City, Padukone decided to make a dash to Breach Candy.
A source says, "After pack-up Deepika didn't want to call it a night, considering it was her birthday. She suggested that they drive down to Ronnie's party. What's more, the pair managed to persuade the reclusive Bhansali to join them."
At the reception, other guests decided to throw an impromptu birthday party for Padukone. Says a source, "Though the party was for Vidya and Sid, everyone decided to celebrate Deepika's birthday as well."
The guests at the party included Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rekha, Anil Kapoor, Raj Kumar Hirani and Rishi Kapoor. Aishwarya Rai walked in with husband Abhishek Bachchan at10.30 pm, and looked stunning and slim, says a guest. Of the newly-weds, here's what an invitee had to say: "Vidya was glowing and Sid was blushing. While she was demonstrative in her affection towards him, he was shy. They looked happy together, and at times, oblivious to others at the party."
