The first and foremost cause for alarm from my side is that Aarti hasn't eaten all day! What is wrong with this woman?! I can understand the lying, though of course I don't condone it, I can understand the zeal to deal with Paridhi's problems so she can avoid her own, and I can deal with her getting stressed out about Prashant, but what on earth is this new zidh? I think from this track, Aarti is going to learn that she has to take care of her physical and mental health first, because the baby is an extension of her. She can't abuse her own body and still expect that her ishwar or ganpati bappa, or whoever it is will save her baby. Unfortunately, a miscarriage is looking more and more likely because there was only a fleeting moment in this whole pregnancy when Yash and Aarti were truly a team in their mission to save their baby. Except for that one night, when they had the discussion and the day after at Dr. Kurian's, each of their pasts has come in turn to keep them away from building the future. If at first it was Yash's guilt about cheating Arpita and his reaction to the same that caused Aarti's stress and the complications, then now it is Aarti's past which is exacerbating them. Remember, Dr. Kurian said that Aarti's BP and anemia had to be in check for them to do the surgery... things are not looking good.
The main thing that stood out for me in today's episode was the question of what caused Aarti to finally break? And this is what I think... it is the fact that Prashant is not allowing Aarti to hate him or push him away. He is like a parasite that is sucking the life out of her, and yet she knows that if she extricates him and cuts him off from herself, he will die. It is an extremely poisonous relationship and Prashant is playing on that to make his way back in. At this point, Aarti feels empowered in her love for Yash and his support of her. It is the only thing keeping her sane, but because of the divorce lie hanging over her head, she cannot have Yash's love unless she actively pushes Prashant away. Things were fine until Prahsant stayed in his Dubey compartment of Aarti's life, but now he is both entering the Scindia side, and making it impossible for Aarti to push him away by showing his physical weakness. This, to me, is what caused the break in Aarti today.
She needs to hate Prashant for her own sanity, in this web of deceit that is spiraling out of control, as well as to be able to prove herself innocent of feelings for him when the truth does come out. She doesn't want to leave any ambiguity in the matter for people to doubt where her heart lies and why she hid the truth. But Prashant, by coming to her house, and once there, reinforcing his need for her humanity and making it impossible for her to be antagonistic is basically demolishing the carefully built walls in Aarti's head between one reality and another. He is invading Aarti's life and disarming her completely, taking advantage of the fact that she can't fight him if he drops his weapons. Today was the first time Aarti actually felt Prashant's invasion because of her mental boundaries crumbling.
Today also showed why the Prashant - Aarti relationship was such a hot mess! They are both such similar people and boy do they clash. That one frame of Prashant and Aarti turned away from each other, with him coughing and her feeling dizzy, while both of them tried to help the other was so significant. They both want to deny their own issues and their own shortcomings by helping other people and feeling vindicated. Aarti has not told Yash the truth, claiming that it is because of her majboori, because she has to save Prashant's life. Prashant, on the other hand, does not want to own up to his past mistakes and accept their cost gracefully. But in the process they are sending all kinds of messed up subliminal messages to each other.
Aarti, by saying that she doesn't want Prashant's truth to come out and ruin her home and family is only enforcing Prashant's idea that Yash will kick her out when the truth comes out, further justifying his own false claim to her and Ansh. And when Aarti is semi-unconscious, all Prashant can do is shout at her for not eating, and remind her of the time he left her, further stressing her out through associations of her past and her present. Contrast this with Yash's calm dealings in confrontations with Aarti's zidh, where he always dispels the tension with humour or gentle words. Aarti and Prashant essentially weaken, and bring out the worst in, each other, a huge contrast to Aarti and Yash who constantly bolster each other. However, until Aarti tells Yash the truth, there is always the fear that her interactions with Prashant can be misread and so the pressure to be as horrible to Prashant as possible, which causes a melt down when she cannot be mean to him thanks to his illness. Once she tells Yash and has his trust, she is actually free to be indifferent to Prashant.
