In theory this sounds great snd agree with this but realistically it wont happen and not just in india but I think abroad most actresses are not paid the same as their male counterparts. the theory in india at least based on what i have read is that the actors are who draw the audience.

My point was, if the actress is the lead in the film with a top star, then she deserves her market price and should not have to slash her fees.

A case like Vidya slashing her fees in Kahaani is different.

true in hollywood women are more appreciated and their work, and agree they should not slash their price say role is equal or they the lead but getting paid as much as the male actor wont happen though its not right but sadly discrimination btw the sexes remains.
