So the truth has finally emerged that Barun Sobti has quit the show for good in search of greener pastures. The News was very much on expected lines (for me at least) as he had never shown much interest nor commitment towards the show during/after shooting of his movie. Even in his interviews he was non committal on his association with the show but never shyed away speaking about his Bollywood Dreams. His falling acting standards, shoddy grooming, lack of commitment towards the show, unwillingness to come clean on quitting issue and constant complaining about the working hours doesn't hold him in a good light.

The actor had bluffed/lied twice over first when he put down his papers in September and more recently the "Longish break" thing. The Channel has called his bluff and come clean as they were inundated with queries and clarified that in fact he has quit and has no plans of returning. The situation would never have turned chaotic had the actor himself admitted it rather than beating around the bush and playing with the sentiments of fans, in doing so he has lost his credibility for selfish gains.

Barun has a history of ditching shows at the last minute and leaving producers fuming. His latest stunt will only make matters worse.

My not so old mother always says:'.., "People will see who you are by your actions, not by what you tell them about yourself".

I have looked at IPKKND from the beginning and I was attracted by the fresh concept and story-line and plus the leads were a very attractive pair. I thought they complemented each other well.

Everything was going great until February 2012 when it all started going down hill but still I thought nothing much of it because I assured myself it must be a little blooper and that is expected in show business at certain times. It did not stop there things began to get progressively worse and then the news dropped that Mr. Sobti was going to do a film. Well you could imagine as a die-hard IPKKND fan I panicked . Anyway he did clear the air on that occasion but there was something we all missed. Mr. Sobti was not looking like the handsome guy we saw in the almost-kiss episode since that particular episode aired. His appearance gradually started looking unkempt right from February onwards''.., still I thought nothing of it as many people I buried my head in the sand.

Things finally started making sense when he came back from filming MAMR. The guy looked lethargic, he was mumbling his way through dialogues, and he looked rather uninterested. To top it off he completely refused to groom himself. At some point I thought he was taking strike action against his employers because they probably were not meeting his demands as there was no other explanation for the complete U-turn. Let me point out one thing here:

I believe that one's attire and appearance should inspire credibility. It should reflect your profession. Barun being a TV star should know that he must not dress or behave in a particular way in which his audience gets distracted. That is the first step to career suicide''., grabbing the rope.

Anyway come September another quitting rumour arose but this time Zee_News confirmed he had given his notice of two months. She was bashed like a coconut in this forum. The amount of words she got I swear she was able to write a best-seller on "Ways in which to Abuse people who don't bring good news". Anyway it seem Mr Sobti already had his plans in action and there were already offers waiting in the wing. Why else will he give notice? I am sure he was not planning to sit at home filing his nails. All this while we only got vague and complicated answers, no one was forthright. In this business audience is King and Mr. Sobti refused to commit to a straight answer as to whether he was quitting plus he said he did not have any films lined up. I don't know about other people but that equated to lying for me. Blames started flying left right and center from SP to PH etc. I will say this and I am not naming anyone "A person who simply passes the blame to me, displays an opportunistic mind-set!!!

I wish Mr. Sobti all the best in his future endeavors but he did not have to lead fans on like The Pied Piper of Hamelin!! Every action has consequences and never bite the hands that feed you or you will go hungry

Even if he had put the papers down...in september itself...he could have atleast take the role seriously...till his departure!!!his shabby n dis interested looks...makes him un proffessional atleast for me...the show n character which gave him every thing he has now...certainly deserve better approach frm him!!!!

Sobti hasn't been interested with continuing the show for months now. His bored looks, fall in acting, looking anything but like ASR are all just his disinterest projecting onto the screen. I have no problem with him wanting to quit but I have never seen an actor appear so uncommitted to his role. And I've seen actors come and do, and regardless of if they were leaving on happy or bad terms...they always stayed true to the role and gave it their all. And I refuse to accept the ASR we have seen was barun giving it his all.

This role gave Sobti everything he has today and opened up his future big time. Yet he has always treated his show as if it meant nothing. In the end, to him this show gave him "time", "1.5 year of time". When asked about fans, he doesn't "believe I the concept of fans" when asks if he's leaving, he goes from no, to longish break, to trying new projects. And people call this dude a professional?

He needs to hire a good PR team ASAP and do some damage control that he's caused with this mess and the ridiculous interviews he's going around doing.

SP knows the marketing value of sarun but they also know how to run a business. To me, this move to end the show was a middle finger from SP to all the spamming. They know how to run their channel and know when to cut their losses and move on.

We'll see what the future holds for him but reality is a bitter pill to swallow Sobti.

I saw this coming a long way but I didn't expect such a premature end to an epic story. An individuals personal goals or issues have affected the entire cast,crew, PH, channel, fans.

I am pretty sure .. I would not like to watch him on any other show of his, unless he pairs up with SI again. Still, I will not be attached to it, keeping his history in mind. He may call it a day anytime or jump into a movie as well. He lacks commitment. His denial, his lies, his PR skills... every thing sucks big time.

His acting skills dropped since his movie break. He never gave importance to the looks either. Owner of an fashion outlet looking so shabby ? No Hair cuts, no shaves ? Being Unprofessional at the very best. I did not feel connected even during the garden shouting/crying scene during remarriage phase.. Still, I forgave all of them just for the sake of the show. Now, its haunting me. I hate to say it man, I really didn't sign up for this crap.

I just love SI, she been the unsung hero of this. She really didn't deserve this nonsense. She just carried on with her work. Now, she has to be on a hunt for a new show pretty soon. I will watch a future show of SI, just for her. I just hope it comes soon.

Moral of the story - An actor is never above a show, unless the channel & PH's realize it, we will get to see many such incidents happening in future too. R.I.P. IPK, sad to bid adieu so soon. We are really cursed
