According to the latest buzz, actor Anil Kapoor, who is producing Mr India 2, is keen on casting Ranbir Kapoor in the title role, while his daughter Sonam will play his love interest.

According to our source, "On the sets of Salaam-E-Ishq, Anil was heard discussing the idea of casting Ranbir in Mr India. Ranbir and Sonam who are at present shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sanwaariya, are tipped to be one of the most talked-about star couples on screen." It seems Ranbir's 'innocent face' prompted Anil to consider casting him.

"Also, after working with Nikhil Advani in Salaam-E-Ishq, Anil decided to cast him as the director of Mr India 2. The sequel will be far more contemporary and will target children and youngsters," adds our source. The original version was directed by Shekhar Kapur in 1987.

There are also rumours that Anil and Sridevi will play a pivotal role in the new film. "It might be a comeback film for Sridevi. She was not keen on acting in the sequel, but Nikhil persuaded Anil to convince the actress," says our source.

When we contacted Anil to confirm the news, the actor said, "It's too early to talk about the project. I will neither confirm nor deny the news."

Incidentally, Nikhil is also tight-lipped about his forthcoming venture. "I am too busy with Salaam-E-Ishq and am not in a position to discuss Mr India 2. As soon as I finalise the cast, I will make an announcement," he said.
