While I was disgusted yesterday, a thought came to my mind while watching Shobha's behavior towards Aarti. While her love for her son is justified, her participation in the lie put up by Dubeys, very well knowing that Prashant had disowned both Aarti and Ansh in the past, and does not deserve any sympathy in that sense, brought an interesting thought to my mind. In choosing the right over the wrong, Shobha had went against society, and taken Aarti's side, fed her, loved her, even committed her son's symbolic shraad to indicate that Aarti and only Aarti are her concern. This, actually, is a burden on Aarti's soul. An orphan, who has been disowned by her husband, the only man she loved, and was later not accepted by her second husband and family - feels indebted to the Dubeys. While there is true respect for them in her hearts, there is also a severe feeling of "owing them" something in return of their favors.

Slowly, and gradually Aarti had begun to think that she was indeed the Dubey's daughter, but a few scenes in the past few weeks have made her question this - and she is now beginning to think that she is well just a daughter in law. When Shobha ma asked her yesterday, if Aarti doesn't trust her anymore - thosewere some big words. Shobha is actually emotionally blackmailing Aarti to keep Ansh with her, for the (selfish?) motive of saving Prashant. In a way, Shobha has made Aarti repay what she had willingly done for her. Shobha had willingly sided with Aarti - but by participating and instigating Aarti in a lie situation that is separating Aarti and her son, and may cause him physical discomfort - and in letting Prashant in some aspect affect Ansh's and Aarti's relationship for a selfish motive - She has basically evened out with Aarti. Aarti's son is now suffering (and may in the future) as a result of this lie. In terms of a debt, there is nothing more Aarti needs to do to repay the Dubeys. By manipulating her, and lying to her for a thing as grave as an operation on her five year old son - Shobha has stooped to a level whereby Aarti does not ever need to repay her for siding with the DIL over the son.

So in the end, Aarti can just free herself from her past totally and leave them alone - at least that will be justified?

Shobha has proved that she can not choose between responsibilty and duty...her son is her responsibility but safeguarding Aarti's marriage and Ansh is her duty...she will have to repent big time for going with the flow and supporting that which was never moral
Aarti can leave them alone...but she can't run away from the lie...she will need to tell the Scindias very soon about her being a divorcee before the punar vivah
And I don't think a woman like Aarti will break all the ties with the Dubeys so easily...she will be angry and disappointed and might feel betrayed but at the end of the day, they were the ones who stood for giving her a better life...also she won't hesitate to help out Prashant on coming to know about his health
