Samay Raina sings Honey Singh’s ‘Brown Rang’, appears to take a dig at Badshah on India’s Got Latent

Samay Raina's latest India's Got Latent bonus episode has drawn attention after he appeared to take a playful dig at rapper Badshah while singing a Honey Singh song. India's Got Latent Season 2 Bonus Episode 2 was released on August 10, 2026. Soon after its release, clips from the episode began circulating on social media.

In one of the moments, Samay took the microphone following a contestant's performance. After asking for the microphone to be tuned, he started singing, "Yo Yo Honey Singh ka fan hoon main," which appeared to be a reference to Badshah.

He continued, "Karta maa-behen hoon main. Mere saare ang dekho, gana Brown Rang dekho." The reference to Brown Rang drew attention given the song's connection to the long running dispute between Honey Singh and Badshah.

A user shared the clip on X and wrote, "#SamayRaina Very Badly Roasted To Badshah, His Expressions." The clip has since added to the online discussion around the comedian's remark. Honey Singh and Badshah's fallout dates back to their association with the hip hop collective Mafia Mundeer. Their split was followed by disagreements over credits and creative contributions, which continued for years.

The dispute became closely linked with Brown Rang. Badshah has previously claimed that he wrote the song's lyrics, while Honey Singh was responsible for its beat. In 2024, Badshah said he wanted to move past their feud. Honey Singh later questioned whether the reconciliation was genuine.

The issue resurfaced in July 2025 when Badshah replied "Credits" to a social media post involving Honey Singh and again raised his claim about Brown Rang.

Meanwhile, India's Got Latent Season 2 premiered on June 20, 2026. Regular episodes follow a fortnightly schedule and are released on Netflix and Samay Raina's YouTube channel. Bonus episodes follow a separate release pattern and are available to YouTube members. The first bonus episode arrived on July 27, featuring Raghav Juyal, Munawar Faruqui, Niharika NM and Rohan Joshi. Bonus Episode 2 was released on August 10, with no fixed public schedule announced for future bonus episodes.
