Rashid was having an affair with shirin behind his first wife and then gotten married to shirin. He must have had two wife's at one time but was permanatly living with dilshad. Shirin must be unhappy due to limited time rashid could spend with her and she and her kids(ayan) must have even stayed in the same house for awhile. Shirin's brother wanted her sisters happiness and therefore offered Mr Rashid a lucrative offer of leaving Dilshad for a stake in business, rashids mother might have been instrumental in convincing rashid to make this decision ...rashids financial status must have had a sudden change during this time too, which could have contributed to it all. Its also possible that shirins brother might have had something to do with it so that rashid has a break down in turns of his financial loss related to his business.

Well, one perfect example was my neighbour who lived for quite some time with his 2 wives one having a son and the other a daughter and a son, and they all lived together and then later on moved on to some other place, so I dunno if they still live like this.

What I mean to say is that maybe they all used to live together, but then like his Ammi said yesterday, it was her decision and they all moved away. So, maybe that elderly man, the brother I think gave them a sort of an ultimatum or I dunno what which made them decide to live separately. He seems a highly shrewd person, the mamu.
