Why doesn't Shilpa Saklani watch her own serials?
And she's not the only one! Many TV actors keep away from watching their own shows, finds Nicole Dastur

"That's an interesting question! I catch up on news, including international news. I like to be updated on what's going on in the world. On days when I have the time, I like to see a bit of action stuff. And there's absolutely no time to see my own serials!"
KANCHI KAUL
"I usually flip channels. But my first choice is news. The second is sports channels: I like watching tennis. Otherwise, I watch music channels."

"I'm a news kind of person, so the first channel I switch on is a news channel. Business news especially interests me. Once in a while, if I have the time, I do watch myself and the serials which I star in, but that doesn't seem to happen very often."

"In whatever little time I get to see television, I only see the promos of my serials, to see whether they're good or not. I know that's quite narcissistic, but aren't actors supposed to love themselves? (laughs). Otherwise, on and off, I like seeing fashion television and action movies."

"I follow all the comedies like Fraser, Everybody Loves Raymond, etc on Star World. I also find Saat Phere and Kasamh Se extremely interesting. Honestly, I don't like watching soap operas. If I watch myself on TV, it's only to see how I can improve. It's like a reality check for me."

"I love seeing all the daily soaps! I'm a TV addict, so I'll watch anything that's watchable. But I don't see my own serials, because then all I do is sit and criticise myself: somehow, I only see my faults and land up telling myself how I could have done much better! But I love watching Apoorva's serials, and however hard I try, I never find anything to criticise in him. I guess I'm a biased wife!"
