Kiya Gujral, played by Bharti Kumar of Channel V's The Buddy Project, produced by Sunshine Productions has always lived in the shadow of her elder sister who is a popular rock star. Though Aanya Gujral's (the sister) mention has been there in the show for long, the girl will be shown making her entry in the coming episodes.
Minal Mogam, who was earlier seen in Star Plus' Behenein and Sahara One's Niyati, will essay the role of the famous rock star Aanya. The girl is a multi-layered character who showers love and affection towards her younger sister Kiya, but at the same time has an air about being the popular sibling. At times, Aanya can get sarcastic in her talk that usually puts down Kiya in the eyes of the family. Aanya is very much updated when it comes to her dress sense, and loves being hounded by her fans. Aanya's character will turn grey as the story unfolds.
As per the track, her introduction will happen when Aanya is shooting for a particular photo shoot wherein she spots her sister Kiya with a guy, who happens to be KD (Fahad Ali). She then recollects the fact that her mother dislikes Kiya being with KD.
When contacted, Minal Mogam told Tellychakkar.com, "Yes, I am essaying the role of Aanya in The Buddy Project. I took up this show as it is youth oriented. Like Minal, Aanya too loves to dress up. As an actor, I feel it is all about experimentation and showcasing our talent. So I love to play any character that suits me. And I will not mind taking few risks when it comes to my role."
