Pintuji ' the Perfect Pati!
Let me begin from the time Pintu was getting married to Krishna after all the hesitation in accepting, expressing, impressing and managing to evoke the love that he had for her. All set as the dulha, he had to face the problem of being kidnapped by his own Dad from the mandap where he was waiting with so many new hopes, dreams and plans for a grand future with his beloved Krishna!
The beautiful Krishna is crestfallen and yet uses her discretion to call for the police. Pintu is back however, after fighting the goons to attend his wedding. He gives a re-assuring look towards Krishna that nothing could happen to him. All this only through expressions ' mind you'.
Krishna goes to meet him and expresses her unhappiness that he got involved in a fight without realising that there was someone here waiting for him with mehndi in her hands'How could she live without him?
Pintu breaks out into a laughter and his making Krishna wonder what was wrong with her'..He calls out to Chanchal to tell her that he was under the impression that her sister only knew History and Geography ' but she also knew filmy dialogues'He was so cute in making such a difficult situation light for his wife..He also adds that he felt so good in knowing what it meant to be loved and cared. He says that once in a while one must talk like that to make love more meaningful and stronger.
The understanding he shows towards Krishna on the very first day of their marriage when she is unhappy at the non acceptance of her by her mother in law. She is not at ease at all and is full of stress and nervousness. He never lets his personal emotions or instincts take the better of him lest he hurts Krishna even unintentionally. He just lets her be'..even if that meant his dreams had to wait a bit more'.before they came true!
The brilliance with which he forces his wife for a morning cup of tea together the next day followed by expressing his innermost desire of spending quality time with her by writing it on a piece of paper (Honeymoon!) and disappearing away only to check (from a distance) if her face had her consent for the same'.He never wanted to do anything against her wish from Day One!
These were moments I have highlighted in detail which were followed by so many more which you all must have read in my various posts on Prishna and Pintu.
To briefly remind you all, dropping her at office in his bike while asking the BDO jeep to follow, taking her for some small outings to eat out of the same plate, to go out of the way to respect her family even when Saraswati had turned a bit rude towards him after the death of Vidyapati.
He accepting and respecting her decision to be at her maika despite the loss of Sargam.
He finding ways to let her know that he misses her a lot by meeting her at odd hours not worrying about the world (she was after all his life.)
Him fantasizing about her in a dream sequence on his birthday party hosted by his in laws as reality looked too far for him as yet.
He looking for a job so that he could financially help Ravi and help her in the IAS preparations.
His participating in the Bhagalpur Contest with Krishna and during the contest being a pillar of strength and support to her.
He being very aware of her values and sensitive to her inability to perform in front of her in laws in that costume and understanding her completely.
He helping her out in the enquiry and seeing to it that she came out of it unscathed.
Through and through, here is a husband who is completely secure in his relationship though he is himself unemployed. His love for his wife is totally unconditional, selfless and for the sake of the relationship alone.
So he is indeed the perfect pati'but I have to add that this was possible only because of a perfect patni in Krishna who respects and loves him for what he is rather than what he has as a legacy.
It is way beyond the looks, money or fame but one heart speaking to another and each one which listens endlessly.
A perfect pati becomes a reality only when the patni is perfect too'..
Prishna ' my ever favourite couple!
