I was wondering why Adi (when confronted by his mom as to why he took the girl who he was previously engaged to ..to see Dadi) said 'mom we had moved on with our lives " . For some reason I had the preconceived notion that Pankhuri was always in love with Adi... why would Adi think she had moved on? Is it because of Shivam? Then there is also this nagging confusion about - why Pankhuri is doubting her feelings (" why am I so restless...is this...?!) NOW? Wasn't she always in love with him?
I think I got my answer: I watched 20th July episode of PKDH again (yes...I do rewatch quite often). It's the episode after the broken engagement. Pankhuri clearly says in 2 occasions in the same episode : Lets forgive each other and MOVE ON with our lives... She also says our lives will take different paths so we should forget the mistakes made in the past. So for Adi it's a clear signal - she had moved on...and lately she had added a boyfriend to the mix (Shivam)...so case closed for Aditya.
Then the issue of why is Pankhuri's talking about love lately...wasn't she always in love? Well...actually...NO... she was never in love... We as viewers of soaps know that they are going to be together & that's the way it always end. But if you consider REAL TIME...there is no reason to believe that. Their meeting was arranged by families...it wasn't love at first sight (PK had doubts bcos of his strange Q&A at the first meeting & Adi had gone to see other girls). PK mentioned her ambitions about her work several times (love & marriage wasn't necessarily her priority). As soon as the engagement was broken Latika kad entered Adi's life. PK has been in Mumbai for..maybe 1 month and a few days now (Adi said - in one month you found a boyfriend?).
For all practical purposes... someone like PK wouldn't entertain the thought of "love" for a guy who her parents had chosen for her to meet barely 2 months ago. It makes sense that only recently she has started to question her feelings. In the same vein..Adi's behavior can be explained too..why doesn't Adi know he is in love...simple... he is NOT in love. Sure he likes to spend time with her. Sure he is possessive and protective of her (well half his family is constantly plotting against her..so naturally he is protective) BUT is this enough to coin it 'love'...of course not. Just because Nanaji & Harish are constantly harping about what a wonderful jodi they would make doesn't mean they can force love on them (but they sure HYPED my expectations).
In my opinion the CVs are on the right tract...Adi (for good reasons) has a l-o-n-g way to go before he even doubts his feelings. Pankhuri has only reached the scaffolding stage of a magical feeling called love..ie.. friendship. The storyline doesn't feel as disjointed anymore if you accept the fact that neither of them are in love...(ummm...yet.)
