Part 3

The Illusion

"Geet Beta, Tussi kehte thein na tussi college jana hai… Toh sochle kii tussi kal hi college jaa rahi hon…(Patting her head) Beta, Bhaisaab aur Parjayiji ke baad toh humein hi tera khayal rakhna hai… Tussi bas apna saaman pack kar don…"

"Saman pack kar doon?? Par kyon?? (Getting confused) Main toh HP wale college jaa rahi hoon na..??" (Innocently)

"Jaa rahi thi Geet.. Ab toh tere liye alag tikhana dhund liya hai…" (Mentally thought and then coming towards Geet spoke loudly) Oyye Geet! HP mein kya rakha hai ab…?? Iss gaav kii woh purani college mein khuch khaas na hai… Issilye tujhe ek wadde college mein daakhila kara ke aaya hoon main… Kal subah ko nikalna hai… Rasta bahut lamba hoga… Zarroorat ki chizein le lena…."

"Vee..r..ji!! Mainu aap logon se door na bhejo… Yahaan ka college thik hoga na mere liye…" (Tears clouding her eyes)

"Oyye Geet tussi door kaha jaa rahe hon… Bas 3 saal ki toh baat hai, usske baad tuje waapas yahaan hi toh aana hai…" Tuje apne Maa-Paapaji ka naam roshan karna hai na… Chinta na karo." (Got irritated with Geet's rona yet spoke calmly adding sugar) "Chal Rajji… Le jaa isse… Iss ka jaruri samaan pack kar dena… Main thodi der mein aati hoon…" (Wiping Geet's tears)

Geet and Rajji leave to the room. Here Tayaji, Tayiji and Brij evilly watch her leaving. Geet is all excited to leave for her new college. Rajji helped her pack her clothes, her childhood doll, her Maa-Paapaji's photo frame. Her essentials, everything. Rajji didn't wanted Geet Didi to leave her but she didn't wanted also to stop her from achieving her dreams. Unknown to the fact that Geet's dreams would get shattered into numerous pieces once she left from here.

Next morning, Geet got ready in her green salwar-kameez, prayed to Babaji. As she was leaving her room all her childhood memories started surrounding her, as if she was forever going to leave this place. She silently whacked her head for having thought that way. She thought

"Kuch hi saal phir toh main yahin toh waapas aaungi..."

She sat in the car with Brij Veerji. It felt strange only person crying was Rajji and herself. She felt may be Tayiji didn't wanted her to get weak before leaving. She had not the slightest of hint what fate has for her. While their car passed the fields she started recollecting her childhood memories. She would always come to the fields, spend time admiring the greenery. She would come to the meadow and study during the exams. There was no1 to disturb her there. She remembered getting her neighbor 'Titu' for a ride on her scooty during her lunch break. She loved to dance in street-plays. She always came up with her friends and Rajji to have those spicy-sour golgappes. Recollecting all these sweet memories she didn't know when she slept.

As the car pulled out the brakes, Geet's sleep got disturbed. Her brother's loud voice made her open her eyes abruptly.

"Oyye.. Geet! Uttar hum pahonch gayye…"

Geet felt a little sterness in his voice. In her state of curiousity she had forgotten to ask her Veerji which place she was being taken to. Geet got down of the car with slow steps to see a rural based area some what like her HP but very scarcely developed. Her Veerji was greeted by a lady aged around 50yrs who was dressed in a short kameez, long skirt and a dupatta covering her forhead. She was also wearing some antique jewellery. Her brother's voice broke her gaze from the woman.

"Sasriyakal Ji..!! Yeh rahi Kudi… (Pointing towards Geet) Iski mehman nawaazi acche se kariyega ji…" (Spoke sarcastically)

Geet felt a little weird by the way the lady was gazing her from top to bottom. But being an innocent and a naive soul she just pushed the thought at the back of her mind and smiled at the lady. But the pleasant smile had no effect on the lady's expression. Brij turning towards Geet spoke.

"Yeh hai Netra Devi Ji… Tu inhi ke saath rahegi… Thik se rehna aur inhe shikayat ka mauka mat dena…"

Geet nodded her head with twinkling eyes, believing her Veerji's words.

NetraDevi took Geet into the house. The house was small painted with chuna (paint made from sea shells, usually gets on your hand easily) The roof of the house was thatched with wooden logs supporting it. NetraDevi showed Geet her room and ssaid in a commanding sound.

"Yeh tharra kamra se… Apna saaman thik-thak se rakh dena… Aur jaldi bahaar aana khaane ke vaaste…"

Geet couldn't get the head and tail of her language but joining some bits and pieces she understood that Netraji was calling her for dinner. Geet knew now she had to take care of her belongings and can't expect help from this family. She didn't know her evil Veerji's soul purpose of sending her here and also the lady's intention. Probably she thought she was just a Paying Guest here. After her tiring journey she had her dinner and had a sound sleep for a new morning which was the beginning of her sorrows.

The next day some1 started banging her room's door hardly. She was in her sleepy mode, never in HP she was woken this way. Gradually this family i.e NetraDevi had now started showing their true colours.

"Aae Chhori… Yahaan aisen ghode bechkar sothi rahegi toh ghar ka sara kaam kaun karega se..??"

"Ghar ka kaam..?? Par…" (Getting confused)

"Par war main kuch na jaanu… Jaa jaake rotiya sek…"

Geet felt this was indeed needed as she was a PG and she had to help in the house chores. After making roties, she was given a pile of clothes may be which were unwashed perhaps of about a week agos. She had to carry them near to a well a mile ago and wash them beating on a flat rock. She had to get water after every 2 hrs for the kitchen, bathroom purpose. That too not in steel vessels like in HP but here there were only matkas (earthen vessels). She was made to do the jhaadu-pocha of the kaccha house. Even after nearly getting exhausted with the work she was given only 2 thin roties and a spoonful of achaar (pickle). Geet just thought

"PG hoon.. Toh yeh sab karna jharoori hai… Aur thik hi to hai na.. Babaji..!! (Looking up) Koi na…"

The main thing that haunted her was Netraji hardly spoke about her college admission. She hardly saw any girl here going to school or college. She decided of asking Netraji tomorrow about her college details.

Same night around 1am, some1 continuously started banging her room's door. Geet got up scared, fearing.

"Ab kaun hai?? Netraji ko iss waqt kya kaam hoga..??"

As soon as she opened the door, a guy with a stong built body entered her room forcibly, shutting it, locking it further. She never had been so close to any guy before and now she was alone here in the room. The guy scratching his chin spoke.

"Ohho… Toh Maai aisa maal laayi hai mhaare liye…" (Gazing at her curves and slim figure)

"Dekh..iye.. Yeh kya… zabardasthi hai..?? Aap kaun hon.. aur aisa kamre mein aane ka… kya matlab hai…?" (Geet spoke stammering)

"He he he… Thaari awaaz ghani acchi hai se Chhori… Aur thaari himmat usse bhi lajawab se… Arrey.. Main Deven.. Tharra marad se… Mhaare liye toh layye hai tanne…" (Advancing towards her)

"Yeh kya anaap-shanaap bol rahe hai aap…?? Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha hai…?? Mere kareeb mat aana.. Warna.. Warna..??" (Pointing finger at him and looking here and there)

Saying that Geet pushed him abruptly and hurriedly unlocked the door and ran calling out Netraji's name loudly. There were no electric lights as in HP. Lanterns supplied with kerosene oil were lit bringing light in the whole village. Geet through the darkness managed to see NetraDevi sleeping outside in the courtyard on the chaarpaai.

awesome updates yar... but poor geet... hope she is will be successful in running away n saves herself... ( lolzz.. waise tho vo baag hi gayi hai.. as its flashback.. ;-) ) hope usse jaldi hi sachayi ka pata chal jaye... waiting for next part yar... to know wat happens next... :-) n THanks for the pms yar :-)
