hey you things,

so, barfi came and conquered...everyone's singing praises of how awsome ranbir is...SO...most of us think that hes the most promising actor we have of the current lot...but NOW...after barfi...where would u rank him amongst all the current working actors including the khans, kumars, devgans and roshans and the current lot - abhay, hashmi, shahid etc etc? how would u rate him as an actor...? do u think hes here coz of the kapoor name and the affairs?

DISCUSS...😎...

He is super talented and his film choices are even better.
He has the advantage that he's young and is open to experimenting because he hasnt been tied down in a niche.

These superstars' super stardom is their downfall. The constant pressure around them from audiences had confined them in a certain niche.

They want Salman to always give them those action masala flicks. If he strays outside, audiences reject him.

They want Shahrukh to be the eternal romantic Yash Raj hero. Rarely do they accept Srk outside that image.

Akshay is the slapstick mindless comedian king and that's how audiences wanna see him. He attempted a serious thriller in between, and was rejected.

I see a similar kinda pressure on Kareena as well now. She experimented with amazing roles like Chameli, Yuva, Dev, Omkara when she was younger. She had nothing to lose. Now with the whole numero uno tag and whatnot, she only does films that have a chance at doing well.

Needless to say, these superstars also had their versatile moments when they were younger. Shahrukh experimented a lot with negative charactesr and excelled. Salman played the subtle romantic hero very beautifully, and Akshay used to rock in serious action flicks. They've been through their moments, that phase of them being great actors. Now...they have to choose between that or retaining their superstardom, and unfortunately, they choose the latter.

Biru doesnt have that pressure right now. HE's young, talented, and can explore the actor inside. Hope he stays away from that stardom and maintains that actor.
In that regard, perhaps I want him to go down the Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan route.
Ajay and Saif arent on the same league as the Khans and Akshay, but they're still big enough stars with versatility.

Well they all make it to the news for their affairs etc so ranbir isn't the only one. What amazes me is how well he has proved himself and that too in just 5 years. Devgans and the kumars can only dream of portraying something with so much conviction as he has done. Even the khans baring aamir are so inconsistent, just in one movie srk gives a decent performance (MNIK) so in the other he hams like there is no tomorrow Ra-One, Don-2 etc. Salman has hardly ever experimented that much.

He is being compared with people who have been in the industry two decades before him, doesn't that speak ENOUGH on his excellence as an actor? 😛 Where as his wooden contemporary imran khan is still enjoying "he is improving" remarks and seniors shahid-newbie-kapoor and john-wooden-abraham are totally lost in their own world and flops!

So kudos to biru, i think he is the best in terms of acting from most of the actors we have today.

I think he has proved himself as a good actor after his performance in Barfi.Well when it comes to rating him,he still has to work a lot on good films to have his name in par with the Khans,Ajay Devgan and AkshayKumar.

Jr.Kapoor > Sr. Khans+Sr. Kumars+ Random Immy-Shimmy,Shahid Wahid, Ranveer-blah blah blah!

I can at least say few years later, yes we had an 'actor' in our current generation of stars!

We have a lot of fun discussing about his philandering ways which might not even be true😆 but when he comes onscreen, he shows his own caliber as an actor! The reason why I really admire his choice of films is in spite of being a 'star kid' and the current youth icon of the country from Bollywood, he chooses roles and characters which are hatke, have depth and substance than any other teen flick or macho role to please his fans!

^^i agree...i havent seen an actor as natural since the 70s when sanjeev kumar, rishi kapoor etc used to act...im not saying hes comparable to those legends yet, but he has the same spark and spontaneity they had...if he continues the way hes going now, he's the kind of actor u would remember 30-40 years later...

His acting speaks volumes about his versatility/depth in Cinema, it's a much needed boost a crucial contribution required to push quality cinema forward, it must be appreciated. His major plus is that he has a consummate ease about him & the fact that he's sorted up in the membrane & hasn't lost focus, he puts his craft before all else, in that regard he's a throwback to the actors of the past. Above the 100 crore superficiality he's destined for better things.

Regarding his affairs, he doesn't need them to stay in the news it should be obvious now. And there's nothing wrong with him having affairs, it's a two way street, if he doesn't have them now then when should he have them ? After marriage & children?, Makes perfect sense for him to do everything now, it's a normal part of life for many when you're young, Akshay, Sanjay, Amitabh & many others are guilty of the same.

Yes, he is the best from the current lot, or actually better than most of the older ones aswell. He's a great actor, and that is an irrefutable fact.

aaah you SAID IT!

Barring the trainwreck called Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ranbir has always had brilliant film choices.

I want to see the day when the crappily overrated Khans/Kumars/whatever do a movie like Rocket Singh, without any inhibitions whatsoever.

I love that about him.. he DOES NOT do films for his fans, and that probably garners him more fans. He does films for FILMS.. he actually gives a crap about the script, he cares about the ROLE. I do sometimes think that he does roles which he thinks will get him awards, but hey, what's so wrong about that. Only goes to show that he's someone who cares about performance, and the success he could possibly get from that.

For those who think that above comment is a backhanded insult to people like Salman, well, its true, but that's not what my actual intention is, so no complaints will be entertained lmao.
