Akshay Kumar disappoints. BIG TIME.

Although I never thought of Akshay as the number 1 actor in Bollywood, I always thought he was WAY better than all the Khans offscreen (putting aside all his colourful affairs). In spite of having a hit and miss record at the bof office and although he is quite inarticulate and doesnt know how to even properly give an interview, I always felt he was so down to earth and humble and polite with everyone, no starry airs, no diva attitude etc etc.

But then I started noticing that he wasnt even promoting his movie Joker. I was shocked to see this unprofessional attitude, like SHOCKED. What was he thinking when he signed Joker? He obviously knew Shirish was no Yash Chopra or Raj Kumar Hirani. He had already worked in two flop movies (Janeman and TMK) with Shirish, so why was he so shocked that Joker turned out to be a crap movie? and it's not like Akshay works in classic well made movies anyway. Each movie that he does these days is shitttier than the last shit movie that he did. and EVEN if he knew his movie was going to be shit, HOW can anyone abandon their own movie? 😕 No matter how much Akshay tries to disassociate himself from the move, it will still be his movie, and his flop.

Regardless, I have lost all my respect for Akshay. Really did not expect this from him. 👎🏼

He should stop acting like one of the aliens in his movie and be a part of the failure like he does with success of his other films. Even if it wasnt made in 3D like promised etc, it would not have changed a poor script. Akki knew the script, he knew what was being done so dissing it the last minute is quite a coward's step let alone professional or not.

Maybe something personal happen between them we don't know about it. There seemed be a fall out. Or it is just was pr stunt but it went the wrong way. Who knows. But don't think Akshay will do it purpose or something because he thought the movie was bad. If that was the case there were more movies he shouldn't promote lol. There is something more too it.

Even if something personal happened between the director and Akshay... it is still not fair on Akshay's part to not promote the movie. A lot of people's hard work goes into the movie and by not promoting it, he not only gave himself and the director another flop but everyone associated with the project... and that's not fair at all to those people.

@ bold - Exactly. Let's say, for some strange reason, Joker would have become a blockbuster, I sincerely doubt that Akshay and his fans(including me) would have said stuff like "Joker's success had nothing to do with Akshay". People and Akshay would have been busy attributing the movie's success to Akki's (so-called)starpower. i love Akshay and LOVE LOVE his old movies. In fact his movies are the only bollywood movies that I watch repeatedly (Hera Pher, Awara Paagal Deewaana etc) but I would never deny that he is a hit & miss actor and most of his successful movies are multi-starrers.

But yeah, coming to Joker, he has behaved like a coward and that's really sad.
