I loved reading all the honest opinions in this thread, especially the ones that are negative...because that's all I feel right now. I'm glad we realize this is constructive criticism and not bashing. I have ranted about this all morning so I might just be repeating myself here. It doesn't matter if they promote the show or not. When the backbone of the show, the story, is so mediocre, nonsensical, and perplexing even for us loyal fans, no amount of promotion will help raise ratings.
I don't even care about the remarriage anymore. This is what they have managed to do...make me not care about something I've been waiting to see since 8 months! I wanted to see a remarriage but not under these circumstances. I wanted it to be focused on highlighting Arnav and Khushi's emotions, happiness, and bond. However, right now Anjali's pain over losing her non-existent baby will overshadow the remarriage. Who wants that?? I'd rather Arnav cancel it now and have it peacefully at some other time when Anjali has hopefully been sent away to a mental institution.
Anjali is just bringing negative vibes to the show. It doesn't help that the acting has been dreadful. No offense but I can't lie. If you want more screen-time, you have to make sure you can deliver. Otherwise prepare for the backlash and don't tell us to "chill out" because you used these same fans to your advantage when negotiating a better deal. We have every right to be unhappy now. The worst part is that her negative vibes are preventing me from enjoying the little moments of the lead pair we do get to see these days. I would have loved seeing Khushi and Arnav dancing to mehendi laga ke rakha but right now, I can't enjoy it because I know what will come next...Anjali making constipated faces as she has a miscarriage.
In trying to show a balance between the leads and supporting cast, they are turning us off both. The side characters are meant to support the lead pair's love story, not become the story themselves...someone tell the writers this fact. Gul and co. needs to do something about this soon. Bring in a new actress to portray Anjali or give us a break from her for a few days because right now, everyone is associating the negativity and low TRPs of the show with HER.
I want them to turn this show back into the intense and pure love story we fell in love with...not the family drama being dished out to us now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stick with what worked in the past...that might bring back all the passion fans and actors associated with this show in the past. I think that's the only way IPK can be salvaged. So to sum up, no I am NOT enjoying IPK.
