After delivering a blockbuster with Bol Bachchan, actor Asin Thottumkal took off for a vacation to Thailand. Now back in Mumbai the actor is recharged and says that she is going to get more demanding with scripts being offered to her. Ask her if, with Bol Bachchan having
crossed the 100 crore mark, should we now call her the 100 crore heroine, considering her last films Ghajini, Ready and Housefull 2 have also crossed that mark.
She says, "I started the 100 crore club with Ghajini and gave membership to others. I am one of the oldest..one of the founding members of the club," adding, "Jokes apart, I don't think heroines should think about the numbers. The producers should."

The actor says that there are very limited heroine oriented films but luckily "change can been seen".

Her focus, she says, is on well written roles, "I am looking at working with the younger crop of actors. I am looking at scripts which have well written roles for the female which have a scope for performance. The roles should be well fleshed out and worth talking about."

The actor also makes it clear that she is not here to compete with others . "I am not competing with other people. I believe in developing and improving myself based on my last performance, be it a film or an interview. One should make a constant effort to push one's boundaries," she says.

Lately, some actors who have worked both in south and Bollywood created buzz by saying that the south's film industry is more professional. What's her take on this issues? "The time of functioning is very different. In the south you start very early around 7 or 9 in the evening, so the pack up happens around evening. There is a lifestyle difference. Here, there are after parties because of which the call time also gets pushed," she says.

Asin ready to do 'meaningful' roles

The actor, however, refuses to be swayed by the success talk around her and surprisingly reveals,

"I feel that there's much more to me as an actor that is yet to be explored on screen especially in Bollywood. So, I may be a success down South, but I will really call myself
successful in the truest sense, when I see my talent being tapped here more than it has been so far.""

Though Asin does admit that she's proud of all her films so far, she reveals that she is now looking forward to more actor-driven roles than just heroine-driven ones, very much like her films in South. "To be honest, I still consider myself to be a newcomer in Bollywood. I know that I have been criticised for being very choosy about my work, but I will be getting even 'more choosier' now," she smiles. "I am now really looking forward to doing more meaningful roles here too," adds Asin. So does she miss working in the South? "Not really. Working there is always like going home for me, I know it's always there for me." As for feeling home in Bollywood, the actor says that it's still too early to call it home. "I have been accepted really warmly here, but sometimes I still feel like an outsider," shares Asin and adds that she's not only referring to her limited friendships in the industry. "Well, given the insecurities in the industry, it's easy to see why competition here always supercedes friendships, but I don't have any qualms about that. What I also meant is that in the South, the industry associates me with certain kind of meaningful roles that are yet to happen here," explains Asin.

OH MY GOSH

"I dont think heroines should think about the numbers, the producers should"

I hate her so much more now -__-
this basically sounds like "I don' think women should worry about finaincial matters, they should instead think of different ways of making sandwiches in the kitchen"
