Saif Ali Khan explains why his on-screen romance with beau Kareena never really clicked and what he plans to do about it

Cocktail, your upcoming film is about being in love with two women at the same time. Have you ever been in a similar situation in life?
Being in love with two people at the same time is an alien emotion for me. When you are in love with a person, you just want him/her intensely. Well, you may run out of that feeling after a while, but that's a different thing. When you are at the peak of your love for a person, you can't have feelings for someone else. Love is exclusive.

However, you and your ladylove Kareena Kapoor have never really clicked as a romantic couple on screen. Would you reconsider working together in the future?
I think people would rather see us with other people. Both of us are happy with the idea of working with others and coming home to each other. That's a good situation. But mind you, she does say, "All the roles we have done together are like diffusing nuclear bombs".

Do you think it's important to be married before you have kids?
To each their own. Having children is a serious responsibility and when you are married, it's a public promise. Also, to a woman it lends security. When one isn't married, there are no legal ramifications if one decides to separate. For a woman who has a child, it isn't a very comfortable situation if her boyfriend suddenly decides to disappear.

Is your daughter Sara interested in acting? Will you be okay with the idea and support her?
Obviously I will support her in whatever she decides to do. She is at an age where she wants to be everything, a doctor, a lawyer or an actor - depending on which day you speak to her. I think she should go to a good university and educate herself well and then decide what she wants to do.

There are rumours about your sister Soha's boyfriend Kunal Khemu not being accepted by the family.

I have no idea about this since he is very much a part of the family. He stayed in Pataudi a few times. We are all very fond of him. So he is very much accepted in the family.
