Increase in cruelty?

A random thought...is the world becoming crueler day by day really, or were we always the same? I always hear people saying that the world is much worse than early..but wasnt it just the same and even more, early...Earlier people were even more barbaric, and wars were freely waged, countries were conquered, there were no international laws or rights or rules of any kind...Now I think it can be termed civilized and shrewd cruelty...cruelty disguised in nice and long words....

Now because of the presence of media, we are more aware of all of it happening, in every corner of the world...but the sad thing is...we just become silent spectators and nothing more....

People are animals. They always have been and always will be. As far as today's methods go, we may be more "civilized" with our cruelty as you call it, but it's still the same. Yes we have changed the way we go about it, but we're still being cruel. And we become not only victims, but also predators. We don't only sit and watch..we become a part of it by doing it...The small things in life are the ones that count....

Abhijeet & filmichick funnily your reffering to humans as animals in the derogatory sense to reflect cruelty. Animals are far from being cruel. They are much gentler than humans!! 😛 You obviously say this as you haven't be-friended an animal. But once you be-friend them they are the most gentle creatures.........not like man that will stab his good friend for material things of life.

As for the human race being cruel. They always were and will be , as the orignal poster mentioned its media and internet, communication that has made the world smaller and we come to know of man's cruelty........which we didn't 50 years ago !!
