Are you talking in the USA or India?
In India most definitely private schools. Barring a few, public schools tend to be quite atrocious.
In the United States, it depends. Almost everyone goes to public schools. Barring some inner city schools and some remote rural schools, most are good and competitive. Of course private schools are better, but some private schools I would list in the 'crazy' category for being overtly religious or political. Charter schools have a good reputation, but I don't think they are good for society as a whole because they tend to skim. Take a very select group of already intelligent low income students rather than actually serve the purpose of educating inner city and low income studentsLets take India for instance, where private coaching classes have more students attendance than actual schools! Should these coaching classes be banned?
