Are you talking in the USA or India?

In India most definitely private schools. Barring a few, public schools tend to be quite atrocious.

In the United States, it depends. Almost everyone goes to public schools. Barring some inner city schools and some remote rural schools, most are good and competitive. Of course private schools are better, but some private schools I would list in the 'crazy' category for being overtly religious or political. Charter schools have a good reputation, but I don't think they are good for society as a whole because they tend to skim. Take a very select group of already intelligent low income students rather than actually serve the purpose of educating inner city and low income students

I checked with Google, and sorted my confusion.

So, um, private schools in India have to run on governmental guidelines and have less qualified teachers. Public schools on the other hand need their teachers to be state certified and all. Public schools have more facilities cause they are mostly being run by these swell people who got money, and they are expensive. How well you are taught in any of school is basically subjective, depends on how good the teachers are.

Mostly, I am told that which school you go to doesn't matter if you've fetched yourself good grades, and getting good grades hardly requires you to have good teachers anymore. Coaching institutions have become a parallel educational body to schools and they get you cleared, most students are more dependent on coaching than classes they attend at school. Anyway, so, public schools in India are generally considered better than private and government schools. It's mostly because the well off attend Public schools. No upper middle class child attends private and government schools because the 'crowd is not nice' which might be true at some point. Likewise, no child living in slums goes to public schools because they are too expensive.

In India there are FEW private schools anyways 😆 ..atleast i dont find many in the place i live:)
..like someone said, it depends on the Board, in India we have - ICSE, CBSE, SSC, ISC. It isnt possible to get into private schooling with a syllabus like ICSE, correct me if I'm wrong...cos I'm not sure .

Lets take India for instance, where private coaching classes have more students attendance than actual schools! Should these coaching classes be banned?

Smoking should be banned but the government gets good revenues through the manufacturing, something to do with the 'margin on the product', Father says. But well, regardless, are they banning it? Likewise, coaching classes cannot be banned because they are the reason why more than half the students get good grades. The studying is so tiresome and plentiful that apparently, 'school teaching is not good enough'. 🤔
