Khushi sat on the ground, her head in her hands, crying. He didn't believe me, again! Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Arnavji", she looked up and turned around, only to be shocked to see the kidnapper standing behind her, pointing a gun at her. "Where is he?" he screamed. "I don't know", she replied angrily. He took her arm, "Come with me" and pulled her up from the ground. Then they heard someone running towards them. She looked in the direction, "Please let that not be Arnavji. I don't want him to be caught again!" She closed her eyes in prayer. The kidnapper pulled her behind the pillar. He looked and saw Arnav running towards them. "Your lover is coming. Don't do anything stupid, or I will shoot him." She nodded; a tear escaped her eye. "Arnavji, why did you come back?" she thought, her heart feeling heavy at the thought of losing him again.

"Leave her", Arnav said angrily through clenched teeth. The kidnapper smiled and pulled Khushi towards him, put his arm around her waist, pressing her back against his chest; his gun still pressed against her temple. "Don't you dare touch her!" The kidnapper smiled again. "Arnavji", Khushi screamed. "Arnavji, please listen to me. Shyamji is behind your kidnapping. I had to convince him that I hated you; that I was on his side. I knew that he would then lead me to you. I had no other option, Arnavji. Please believe me. I swear on Devi Maiyya, on my Babuji and '" she paused, her eyes meeting his. "I can't die knowing that you.. that you don't trust me!" A tear escaped her eye. Arnav's eyes teared up, hearing her confession. His heart was breaking seeing the pain in her eyes. He believed her; she was innocent. She had been innocent all this time. Why did he not trust her earlier? She was his Khushi; she had always been his, only his. Now after all this, no, no I can't lose her. "Khushi, you are not going to die. I won't let you die", Arnav said, walking towards her. The kidnapper pulled Khushi closer again and pressed the gun deep into her temple. "Shut up, both of you". He looked at Arnav and said, "If you say another word, I will shoot her. Now quietly go sit in the jeep right now". He tilted his head to indicate the jeep that was parked in the alley beside the temple. Khushi shook her head. "Don't listen to him Arnavji. Go, save yourself. Please I can't let anything else happen to you. I won't be able to bear it if you were to get hurt again.. please escape". A tear escaped Arnav's eye. She wanted him to save himself, while she herself was in danger. She put her life in danger, twice, to save his life. He shook his head and said, his voice trembling. "No, Khushi I'm not going anywhere, not without you. I will not let anything happen to you. I need you, Khushi. I need you in my life". A smile appeared on Khushi's face and tears streamed down her cheeks. He needs me; Arnavji needs me. She closed her eyes and burst into tears, still smiling. Suddenly the kidnapper pulled Khushi closer and she struggled as he screamed, "I said shut up, both of you. You", he pointed at Arnav. "Go sit in the jeep. Right now!"

Arnav looked over Khushi's shoulder at Devi Maiyya's idol. He thought angrily, I have never believed in your existence. But Khushi believes that you are above everyone and there is nothing you can't do. If that is true, help me save Khushi from the kidnapper". There was a sound of a bell ringing. The kidnapper looked over his shoulder to see who rang the bell. Arnav jumped onto the kidnapper and pushed Khushi away. They struggled as Arnav tried to grab the gun from him. He pushed the kidnapper against a pillar and banged his wrist against it repeatedly. Finally the gun went flying out of the kidnapper's hand. Arnav punched him in the face. "How dare you touch my wife?" He punched him repeatedly and banged his head against the pillar. Suddenly Khushi screamed "Arnavji" and there was a gunshot. Arnav turned around to see Khushi collapse in front of him.

Khushi was watching Arnav fight with the kidnapper, scared, when she noticed another kidnapper run towards them. She tried to warn Arnav, but then she saw the kidnapper pick something from the ground. She raised her eyebrows in shock; it was a gun. He pointed it at Arnav. She screamed his name, but she realized it might be too late; so she jumped in front of him, just as the bullet was fired. It hit her right below the lungs. The impact made her body jerk and she collapsed; memories of moments spent with Arnav flying in her mind. Arnav saw her collapse and ran to her, picked her blood stained body and placed it on his lap and touched her face, his eyes filled with tears. The tattoo guy turned to the other kidnapper, screaming, "What have you done? The boss told us that he should not be harmed. What were you thinking when you shot at him? He will kill us today. Hurry, grab the guy and let's go". The other kidnapper wasn't listening to him; he said stammering, "Boss, there are people coming this way. We should leave." He pointed at a group of men running towards them. The two kidnappers ran to the jeep and drove off.

Arnav sat on the floor, hugging Khushi as the men ran to him. They had heard the gunshot. "Please someone call for an ambulance; my wife.. my wife has been shot". One of the guys said, "We already called the ambulance. It is on the way. The closest hospital is just five minutes from here. Don't worry, nothing will happen to your wife. Devi Maiyya will save her." He said, pointing to the idol of the smiling goddess. Arnav looked at Khushi and touched her face, tears running down his cheek. "Ambulance on its way, Khushi. Nothing will happen to you." Khushi smiled and a tear escaped her eye. "You need me in your life? You believe me Arnavji". He nodded, his lips trembling as he wiped the tear off her face. "Yes I do, sweetheart. I am very sorry that I didn't trust you earlier. My heart believed you, but my brain wanted facts. When I left you at the airport, I kept telling myself that I don't care. But I can't live without you, Khushi. Please forget everything I did, everything I said. Please don't leave me. Nothing else matters today; no truth, no lie. The only thing that matters is that I can't live without you. If you are not alive, then my life has no meaning". Khushi smiled, tears rolling down her cheek; she had been right all along. It was Arnav Singh Raizada who had spoken on stage that day, and not Ranjha! She asked him, softly, "Arnavji, can I ask you something? What were you saying that day.. that you will always always.. always always what?" Arnav breathed deeply, his lips still trembling and his eyes red and still filled with tears; he lifted her blood-stained body up from his lap and kissed her forehead. He softly whispered, looking into her eyes, "I wanted to say that I will always always love you. I have always loved you, Khushi". Tears rolled down Khushi's cheeks; he loves me; he always loved me. She winced in pain, put her hand on her wound and then grabbed his arm. "Arnavji, please don't let me die. I want to live my life with you, be with you forever because I.. because I love you too. I have always loved only you, Arnavji. Please don't let me die". Tears escaped his eyes again. He touched her face and shook his head. "No Khushi I won't let you die; I will not let anyone take you away from me; not even death can part us." Khushi smiled and closed her eyes. "Khushi", he screamed. "Khushi, open your eyes", but she didn't. He bent down and whispered, "Khushi, no, I can't lose you. Please open your eyes. Please", and he softly touched her lips. As he moved away, she opened her eyes and smiled. "Why did you stop, Arnavji?" She touched his hand and slipped her hand in his. He smiled and kissed her lips again; he kissed her forehead, her cheeks and pressed his forehead against hers. He squeezed her hand and softly whispered, "Hold on tight, sweetheart, the ambulance will be here soon".

Shyam reached the dining table; everyone except Khushi was at the table, having breakfast. He ran his hand through his hair, "Where is Khushiji? Was she lying to me about stealing Arnav's money? Did she go looking for Arnav in the warehouse? I took her there thinking that she will believe that he wasn't there. Well even if she does go back and tries to save him, Saale Saab won't trust her", Shyam had an evil grin on his face. "That is why I took her to that room, to make sure Arnav heard our conversation. Khushiji, if you were lying to me, then you will suffer. No one cheats Shyam and gets away with it." Suddenly the phone rang. Anjali picked it up, smiling. Suddenly she raised her eyebrows, "What? Chotte is in the hospital? Khushiji is shot?" Shyam turned around, his face shocked. "What? How did this happen?", he thought. He picked up his phone and ran out of the room. Anjali collapsed onto the sofa and Nani, Payal and Akash ran to her. NK helped Mami walk to the sofa. Anjali explained, sobbing, "Khushiji was shot and Chotte is with her in the hospital. The doctor said that Chotte was bruised and he was refusing treatment. He recognized Chotte, which is why he called here. Why did Chotte not call me? What is Chotte doing in India?" Everyone turned around, as they heared Shyam's voice. "I will explain everything, Rani Sahiba".

Precap: Anjali touched Arnav's face and said, "Chotte, I know you love her, but she deceived you; she deceived all of us. She was after your money, Chotte. Khushi doesn't love you!"

So, what did you think? When I saw the Heer-Ranjha episode in April, I thought then that there might be a scene like this.. everything he said that day made me think that there might be a scene coming up where Khushi might be dying, while trying to make him believe her .. else why would Arnav say, that nothing matters today.. no truth or lie.. remember he also says I left you thinking that it wouldn't matter to me.. (and he did leave her, before he got kidnapped).. that's why I wanted to use the dialogues he used in the play.. it made sense to use them here.. I hope that is ok and that it won't be considered plagiarism!

and again, just wanted to remind you, this FF is going to have a happy ending.. don't worry!! But yeah, lots of twists and lots of fun updates coming up!! I can't wait to write the next update.. you might have to wait 24 hours, because tomorrow is going to be a long day with meetings all day. but I will get home at night and work on the next update!!
