As per DP, it was Chaya-Sati who had entered the fire. Sati had already left to her Loka leaving Chaya-Sati handle Dakash, after he insulted Sati. So it was this Chaya-Sati born as her Anasavatar, Ganga & Sati the Aadi Shakti as her Purna avatar Parvati. While doing Tandav, Shivji carried her body on his head, so her Anashavatar will flow from his head, that's why Aadi Shakti told him about Ganga & Parvati.

Aadi Shakti takes many forms for various purposes. Only her Sati & Parvati avatars were to marry Shivji. Ganga as an Anshavatar as per DP has an important role to play. All the Anshavatars need not be to marry Shivji. (i can smell ur annoyance here )😆

In MB even Draupadi was anshavatar of Mahakaali, she too was born for a purpose.9 that we have discussed in Srushti's threas about Sati & Draupadi)

In Durga Saptashati, there are 3 main charitras. Pratham, Madhyam & Uttam of MahaKaali, MahaLakshmi & MahaSaraswati. Out of them MahaLakshmi after killing Mahishasur merges in Parvati & appears again from her for killing Shumbh, Nishumbh & other daityas. That is MahaSaraswati's charitra.

So There is a difference between Aadi Shakti's various forms.
