^^^^ DC's overseas players had been out of form, but that aside, the real problem is that the domestic batting is really weak. Of the domestic bowling, Amit Mishra has been out of form, while Veer Pratap Singh has only been okay when bowling alongside Steyn - in the last game, in his absence, he came apart. Also, this year, Ishant Sharma has not been there for them.

But the owners really need to strengthen their domestic batting. Their decision 2 years ago to let go of all their top domestic players - Rohit Sharma, Venugopal Rao, RP Singh and last year, Pragyan Ojha, is just inexplicable. What they have now is really mediocre. And although the bowling is fine, they need both Steyn and Thereon in the lineup, since those 2 perform mutually exclusive roles - the first is a good opening bowler, while the 2nd is a good death bowler. I don't know how many good domestic batsmen are available, but this is one team that could, in the absense of anything else, be better off hiring Laxman and bringing in Ganguly - even that will strengthen their batting.

PWI - they started off well, but like MI, they tried too many different opening combinations. Dada is slow, so the only thing that makes sense for him to do is open the batting - even batting as low as #7, as he did in Eden, doesn't help. Next year, he'll be gone and Yuvraj will be back, and since the side has a decent domestic bowling attack, plus Matthews and Smith, they could have Ryder, Clarke and Fergusson. Yuvraj and Uthappa in the middle order, and open w/ Ryder and one other domestic opener (not Clarke - every team needs to have a domestic opener in case the opposition opens the bowling w/ spin - Dada was good here, but someone will be needed who can confront the spin attack).

I'm hoping that RR and KXIP manage to make it to the last 4, although I'm not sure that the latter can.

I strongly support RCB.
Extremely enthusiastic for Gayle and Kohli- they're my all time favorites.

But I can't deny the way KKR are playing this season. Very impressive play by Gambir, Kallis, McCullum, Lee and the rest of team. Well played. Hope they do get to the finals.
