Everyone should be respected irrespective of age. Whether someone is older than me or younger than me, I try my best to be polite and respectful. If I get upset and lose my cool, I apologize irrespective of their age.
If anyone is rude or belligerent to me, irrespective of their age, I will take offense and expect them to apologize. I will not let any human talk to me or treat me in a berating manner.
I give credibility to experience, knowledge, ability, authority, integrity, honesty etc depending on situations and never age, gender, etc and expect people to do the same to meEXACTLY 😆 .. all bunch of bullies who make you do what they want and rate our obedience as "good, well-behaved or spoiled kid " :( ...very bad how us kids had to put up with all that!
Ah when I was young I did not quite like most elders and the school teachers too. ( except for a few exceptional ones). They looked like bullies to me. Maybe I never understood that we could not do what we liked and had to behave like prisoners 😆Do this !Study !Do not go out and play too long !Shut Up !Do not jump !Ah I never want to be a child and get pushed around.😆

Hello everyone! :)
Now, this topic is about "respecting elders" 😛 . Now, we all..have been told, taught by our elders to "respect" our elders. ALLL of us do do that.We all have a CODE OF CONDUCT while dealing with older folks..like -- Wishing them with a smile :)- Not disrespecting them by any means- Not talking back under ANY circumstancesetc etc...you all know what I'm talking about right 😆What do you think about such "code of conduct" ? Do you people really believe that BECAUSE they're elders, we need to conduct ourselves in a particular way? Even if they dont deserve the respect?Coming to me, I always respect older people because they have such sentiments(want respect), and I dont like hurting their baseless emotions/making them feel uncomfortable, so, I wish them, try my best never to offend them or make them feel uncomfortable. that being said..I respect younger ones too. Even if a 14 year-old kid says nasty things to me, I dont really feel "woah, how dare you! I'm older than you! >:( " ---> which is the reaction of most of the elders when they feel dis-respected by people younger than themselves. I'm sure all you have seen such people. If you talk back to an elderly person, you are seen as a bad boy. Especially, if you live in India.. "code of conduct" with elders is extremely valued. The elders themselves too, DEMAND respect from you. They get sooo offended, they even bring in your upbringing if you by mistake even SLIGHTLY disrespect them..your image gets punctured here.Do you really believe that respect should be on the basis of AGE? What you talk and how you talk, does/should it differ with the AGE of the person your talking to? Should one be obliged to a person older than him?? Do you people treat all elderly folks with respect? Finally, do YOU feel bad when a person younger than you talks back and does not "respect" you? 😛Thankyou 😳 share all your views, thoughts, stories, everything on this matter!
