Names

I am writing a novel and the protagonists are going to be Indian. How desi of me, I had to have the boy Indian and so I thought an Indian girl would be nice with him 😆. I am going to set it in the U.S. and they will be freshmen in college but I need help w/ names. Their names should be easy for Americans yet they are India. I will list a few choices for each and please remeber that they will have a romance between them so the names should sound good as a couple. I will really appreciate this because there are no better people to ask about Indian names than Indians. Everybody's opinion will be taken into careful consideration and I will tell what I have chosen. Also note that I will consider the opinions of the people that tell why and give their opinion more than just tell the name. Because of this and not to leave a chance for multiple anonymous votes this is going to be a post instead of a poll. Thank you guys very much. **Please note spelling differences and name meanings***

Choices for boy's first name:

1. Jai/Jay: victory

2. Samir/ Sameer: breeze

3. Krish (Krishna)

4. Suraj (nickname ???): The sun

5. Raja (nickname ???): King

Choices for girl's first name:

1. Mona/Monica: no meaning

2. Megha : Cloud

3. Chandni (nickname ???): moonlit/moon

4. Rani (nickname ???): Queen

5. My family was debating about who Krishna's wife was So I am putting Radha down.

Last Names

1. Walia

2. Rai

3. Patel

4. Shroff

5. Arora

6. Malhotra

7.Saxena

8. Choice (No heavily realigous last names because that may cause contreversy)

Please make sure the last names differ.

yeah thats what i was thinking..Chandni Kapoor...it sounds nice 😛 ...what about Kelkar?😛

I am now making a rule that If you would like to add a last name at least 3 positive vote so 1 more vote and Kapoor is into the voting list. HOWEVER, 3 NEGATIVE votes eliminate a last name BUT ONLY IF the why you wanted to eliminate it is also stated.
