Loved the story...Light..ahahahah...brilliant..waves and particles..electromagnetic...always at right angles...ahahahahaNow am I reading tooo much in this I wonder...Brilliant stuff by olive...exactly...it is JUST a show...get over it...don't look for more than the cow dung...and that is what it is ..cow dung...!!!😆😆😆BUT I loved your ASR...I loved your Khushi...seems to gel more..than the chamkeeli and the ivy leaguer on screen...👏
This is ridiculously hilarious. I read both the parts and by the end of it, I was saying LOL aloud. This is so Khushi. And Arnav is just a bit tampered with but then um not complaining. Looking forward to reading more.
And although I am not supposed to be looking for symbolisms but I can't help I am a fan girl and I think Waves and Particles in other words mean Arnav and Khushi.😆😉
Chapter 3:
The plan was fairly simple. Spook her pants off and get her off his back for the rest of the weekend so that he can peacefully spend it not thinking about the trouble he would be getting into. But then again Khushi was….Khushi.
He knew that she was a stubborn woman but he didn't expect that she wouldn't be broken when he brought in bribing and cheating and blackmail. He wanted to see what website she had been harping about but she wasn't letting him on. Bribing food hadn't helped, blackmailing her had earned him a punch in his stomach and cheating her had just gotten him embarrassed.
Finally he had to resort to last arsenal in his quiver: begging.
After groveling, pulling puppy dog eyes, incredibly soft and pathetic voice, using way too many adjectives and finally sighing for the brooding effect, she had finally given in.
The website was THE bomb. A part of his brain gave him a nasty mental kick and asked him to pull up his pants and ban the damn website. But the non-logical part of his brain was too busy clicking away to glory to register and react. His subconscious went on a holiday for two whole days when Arnav Singh Raizada hunched over his laptop and explored the website, created an account and argued with random strangers about fictional things and fictional characters. He had no idea that websites could get addictive but his palms itched every time he saw a topic that begged for an argument or whose opinion clashed with his or generally there was some argument going on.
Khushi had given him a patronizing 'been-there-done-that-bought-the-t-shirt' look when he harped about the amount of time the website consumes.
"Let's go watch that horror movie," he said sweetly. Date #2 was planned for Sunday; brunch at one of the restaurants that the girl's family owned. Khushi was already looking at their menu online salivating at the displayed pictures and the whole thing just irked him.
So watching horror movie and getting her spooked was the idea he had to avenge his….pathetic-ness?
Unfortunately it hadn't gone all that well.
"Didn't you eat a massive dinner already? You bought five buckets of popcorn and two colas," he said when she thrust another popcorn bucket in his hand.
"I need something to hold on to till interval," she replied frankly and started munching on popcorn. By the time movie started, she was on bucket #2. He simply shook his head. First thirty minutes of the movie was simply setting up the mood and storyline; creepiness was about to begin.
It was also that very moment Arnav Singh Raizada arrived at a very important epiphany of his life. Khushi wasn't wired like any other women; she was wired wrong and behaved exactly opposite to his expectation.
For example, not being a misogynist, a girl generally can't handle too much of blood and gore. And since this is a fictional world, instead of wringing her own hands and covering her face, she automatically grabs the arm of the guy next to her and hides her face in his arms.
But this was Khushi. Instead of him, who was sitting on her left, she had wrung the arm of the guy who was sitting on her right and hid her face whenever there were scary scenes. The guy on her right turned out to be a master jackass and a total bas***d who let her without any complaints. He even squeezed her palm when the scene got really gory. The girlfriend who was sitting next to the man had realized what was going on only thirty minutes later.
Fight had broken out between the two women and he wanted to cry, drown in the puddle of his tears and die. Movie was stopped thanks to loud voices of two women, people around them started encouraging them to fight more since that was more entertaining than the crappy movie, some even took out their phones and started recording.
He really, really wanted to shoot himself then.
It had taken almost an hour to settle things down at the movies and ensuring that there were no videos of Khushi pulling hair of the other woman and compensating the theater guy.
"Why would you do something so dumb?" He yelled as they drove back to her place.
"Look, it was an honest mistake alright? It was a natural reaction and I didn't realize it," she said in pure nonchalance. "But I did punch him after I realized," she said hopefully. He looked at her and suddenly grinned.
"It was an awesome punch," he agreed wholeheartedly. But he sobered up. "Still, you shouldn't have chosen that guy." He said. She looked at him wide eyed while he promptly avoided her gaze. Had he seen her smirk after those ten seconds of heated staring, he would have begged his mind to be on perpetual alert from now on.
"Sir, next time you take me to a cheap horror movie, I will promise you that I will cling on to you, okay?" she said. He simply grunted.
"Don't forget the Sunday brunch. I am going to be there too. Since we already had a practice round, you now understand the protocols, procedures and process that will be followed. Debriefing post op will happen at sixteen hundred hours." She said in one breath and finally grinned.
He glared at her. "You know you watch too many cop and spy dramas?"
"They are awesome, no? And you have such a huge collection," she said happily.
"Wait. My collection?"
"Uh-huh. I pick from your collection."
"But the DVDs are in my room," he said tiny bit of fear creeping in his voice.
"Yes, yes…I know; on the wall opposite to your massive bed," she said distractedly. They were passing by the street that was generously littered with food vendors and that had gotten her nose and palms pressed on the window. That was probably as near as he she could get to those vendors, she thought sadly.
"What were you doing in my room?" He asked quickly.
"I was borrowing your DVDs. Pay attention sir, your comprehension skills seem to be slipping," she said.
"Why did you go to my room?" He asked his voice raising an octave.
"Because the DVDs were in your room!" She turned around and exclaimed. "You seem to be awfully slow tonight sir. We can talk about this again tomorrow if you wish," she replied looking at him in worry filled eyes.
"Who asked you to go my room in the first place?" He wouldn't let it go.
"I don't remember anymore since it was several months ago." She shrugged. He took several deep breaths.
"Don't go to my room, okay?" He said slowly.
"How will I get my DVDs then?" She rallied right back. He didn't know if she was being real or sarcastic.
"Why don't you buy them on your own?"
"I prefer the stuff that you have. They are all lying there catching dust. You should thank me for cleaning it on a regular basis," she replied.
Wait, what? When did she entering his room borrowing his stuff without his knowledge become a favor to him?
"Anyway, don't think too much tonight as it seems like you are little out of it. Just go home and relax. I'll see you Sunday afternoon," she said waggling her eyebrows.
He wondered if she could find him if he grew a beard, change his name, run away from home and live the life of an ascetic. Nah, she probably might find him when he would be running around to get his name changed.
Something wicked was definitely coming this way.
