Veer quickly opened the glass window...took a glass and was about to pour his drink when he remembered Chandni's words...

"i hate drinkers...i don't understand why people drink...you know Veer that is the worst thing one can ever try"

he smirked "yes Chandni...you should try first to know whether its worst or the best thing one can try"

he poured the alcohol and gulped three to four glasses... even when he had so much alcohol he was always aware of what he was doing...he took off his shirt and flung it carelessly on the bed... " Chandni, this restlessness is not going to lessen now"

Soon he closed his eyes...

Next Day

It was early morning and Chandni was ready for her college. She preferred walking, it was a narrow path, isolated from the main road...only few pedestrians could be seen walking...the path was surrounded by tall trees and bushes...it was convenient for her to walk with her high boots, because of the rains. It was windy, her long hair blew all over her face...the college was few minutes on the walking distance...

the moment she entered the college she heard somebody calling her, it was none other than her friend Maneka... "where were you?" she said while running towards Chandni...

Chandni smiled at her "how are you?"

Maneka was out of breath "oh...i tried calling you...but your mother said you went out for some project"

Chandni gave a broad smile "yes...i went to Kureong" and started walking towards her building

Maneka looked surprised "Kurseong!!!! why didn't you tell me..."

Chandni didn't look at her but she was still smiling "well it was all so quick that I couldn't think of telling you" she said while adjusting her stole in the front...

Manohar wasn't surprised to see Veer all dressed up and that too so early... "Veer it will take one hour to reach at University in Darjeeling"

Veer snapped back "who is going to Darjeeling?" he made a frown and walked outside

He looked at the beautiful mountains surrounded all over the place...he could see the snow clad mountains far away... "never have I seen anyone so beautiful, who knows when and where shall we meet again, the world can't stop me now, I have made a vow to myself" he said while putting on his jacket...

He took out his bottle and started walking towards the the other side of the hill...for some reason he wanted to be alone... there was silence...all he could hear was the sound of the blowing wind... he was sipping his drink sitting on the hill when he saw young gurkha boys asking him loudly in their language "Kasto Cha?" (how are you?)

Though Veer couldn't understand a single word, he still waved his hand while drinking...they walked past him "Pheri bhetaunla" (will meet again) and waved their hands...

Maneka kept the books in her bag "fine...so when are you going back to complete your project?"

Chandni thought for a while "may be tomorrow...can't say anything...its raining and I can't do anything until it keeps raining at the site"

Maneka confusedly asked her "i don't know if that's what I feel...but you have changed a little..."

Chandni reluctantly answered back "i won't change unless destiny wants me to..."

they walked towards the gate...

Maneka and Chandni walked towards the narrow path outside the college...she was changing or the destiny wanted her to change... Maneka asked her "so tell me about this change".

Kamini was at the temple when the preist was performing the prayers, it was one of the important prayers that Kamini performed for her Grand daughter... she was offering the ghee to the holy fire when she remembered the words that the priest had said for her grand daughter...

" the soft treading of her feet will wake up the sleeping destiny, this fair girl, if touched a stone, even that will become a diamond. The rainbows, clouds, flower buds and stars are all her features...may the shade of her beauty always shine like this. May no one's evil eyes cast on her"

Kamini was worried for Chandni...she wanted to protect her from the evil that was prevailing on the earth, and it will somehow make its way to reach her grand daughter.

Manohar approached Veer while he was walking towards the nearest town... "Veer...wait..." he said while running towards him...

Veer was least bothered...he wanted to be alone...Manohar asked him "Veer...you made me run so much...why didn't you stop?"

Veer didn't look at him and kept on walking "i want to be alone..."

Manohar smiled "you want to think about her...i know you...well I think she is..."

before Manohar could say anything Veer replied "she is naive"

Manohar smiled and looked carefully at his friend "you seem different with her as compared with other girls..."

Veer smiled "because she is different...i don't know why she dwells in my heart"

Chandni closed her eyes "i don't know what sort of change this is..."

Maneka surprisingly looked at her " what?? whom are you talking about?

Manohar's mouth was wide open with shock... "what??? she dwells in your heart...what relation do you have with her???"

Veer closed his eyes "i don't know what sort of bond is this...what sort of dreams are these..."

Chandni took a deep breath and opened her eyes "i don't know why a stranger seems so intimate and right...i don't know why I am constantly lost in thought, anything I say...I say haltingly and fearfully..."

Maneka was totally bewildered by her answer "Chandni I hope no one has casted a spell on you..."

Veer continued " i don't know why she stays every moment near my heart..."

Manohar baffled "what???"

Veer closed his eyes for a second "keep burning me with your desire, by coming into my dreams..."

Chandni stood still for a moment "i don't know about the spell...all I know is that I am not in myself...someone has stolen me..."

Maneka dazed at her "what??? stolen...but..."

Chandni took few steps without looking at Maneka "there is always a bizarre feeling around me..."

Maneka finally hold her hand to stop her "what??" '.. Chandni marveled at her jolting features...

Maneka "do you even know what you were saying?"

Chandni couldn't understand how she uttered something unusual...she wasn't unfamiliar but there was something disturbing her...she looked at her friend "nothing...i was just scaring you..." she smiled...

Maneka took a sigh of relief "oh thank God...i got scared...don't you ever talk like this again...it seemed you were somebody else and not Chandni..."

Manohar shouted loudly in his ear "have you gone insane...???"

Veer came back to his senses "what did I say??"

Manohar questioned back "what were you talking about??"

Veer diverted to look at the few shops down the hill... "lets go there..."

Manohar was astonished at Veer's unpredictable behavior "it seemed you were a completely different person and not Veer"

Chandni looked at Maneka "ok tell me when is Rohan coming??"

Maneka shyly smiled "he will come in December...you know after five months..."

Chandni adjusted her hair "five months is not a very long time...it seems you are so much desperate"

Maneka smiled "you are right Chandni...i am dying to meet him now...this time when he comes I will marry him..."

Chandni laughed "you are so eager to marry..."

Maneka said embarrassingly "yes yes...you laugh...you will understand when you will fall in love with someone..."

Chandni looked into her eyes "that day will never come..."

Kamini looked shockingly at the priest "but I don't want her to meet her fate that will betray her"

Priest smiled at Kamini "they are fated to meet one day, as when the spring comes...flowers are predestined to bloom..."

Kamini was worried "but I don't want Chandni to suffer...she is too young to face this evil..."

Priest closed his eyes and smiled "whatever happens is for good...we can only pray..."

Next day

Every Morning Kaka looked at the black crown in his box...no one is powerful enough to act against God's will...he only prayed God to give Veer strength to face this life... he never stopped Veer from anything...he knew he only has five months with him...his hands trembled at the thought of it...his morning always started with this fear...

he heard the door bell...he kept the box back... and wiped his moist eyes...

"good morning Kaka" Chandni said while taking off her sunglasses...

Kaka was happy to see Chandni "hello Chandni...it is so good to see you...please come in..."

Veer's phone was ringing continuously from last two days but he didn't bother to pick the call...he was never interested in those girls, even when he was in Mumbai...no one had the charm to indulge him in anything without his wishes...

but he found himself diverted to the new one, the urge beyond his control...

He looked at his call list and saw his girlfriend Misha's no...although he didn't even bother to tell her his whereabouts but she didn't failed to call him again and again...finally he dialed her no when he heard her voice downstairs...his attention was dragged back to Chandni...her voice was enough to capture his eye... he disconnected the phone and saw her standing near the kitchen...

She wore a short black dress, that fitted her so well...her fair skin was glowing, that could make anyone fall for her...he saw her dragging her bag and walking towards her room...

The great Veer Riachand, womanizer par was unnerved...he went back into his room for another drink...screw the brew, I need whisky...
