I hope she makes a comeback with a bang because she is a super actress and can dabble both the cinemas (commercial and art). If with right scripts and pr management, hope she comes back and act her pants off.

Ps: I loved her character more than Vidya's in NOKJ. She was quite a phataka..

Rani was very versatile compared to all the actresses of today. Its just that at the later end of her career, she made some wrong choices and that cost her big time.
And unfortunately for the actresses, once the ship has sailed they cannot board it back again. She won't regain her top spot again, but she will be around for a while. Its a great phase right now in bollywood, there are roles for the 30+ actresses.
I would definitely like to see her around more.

I think Rani's biggest problem right now is that she's become very choosy of the films she's doing hence she's doing very few & missing out on some good scripts. She's become very picky.

I don't see how that is a bad thing. Quantity may work initially when you don't have that many high-profile, substance films coming up. However, quality should be given priority over quantity eventually.
Problem wasn't that she was choosing a film every year for the last few years, but rather that she limited and confined herself to YRF.

I agree. Vidya probably gave the more convincing performance, but she was super-super boring in that film.
Rani on the other hand seemed a bit superficial in her role, though she did the best she could have done with the role. I mean her role had very little depth - just cussing, acting like a leprechaun does not make a strong character. She pulled off her pretty well.

but Vidya had taken the cake from RANI easily even though the latter was more interesting...Vidya was boring becoz she portrayed a real life character...she impressed jessica's sister sabrina a lot

^^^I didnt understand why did they make Vidya so dowdy. The real Sabrina doesnt seem so dowdy. No harm in dressing like a normal girl next door.

shreya if u research or should i say dig out on the film u will find tht Vidya's character was actually a fiery one but they had to make changes according to Jessica's parents and sabrina...the character was designed three times..and their parents gave their nod to the last one...as how it should be played and dressed up...Rani's character was more like 5 minutes in the movie...but since Vidya's character now became a shy and demur one...Rani's Meera was given a Big Juice up...Sabrina wasn't happy but finally gave her nod...Rajkumar Gupta said he was very crucial abt Jessica's family...and didn't want to upset her...so i dont really blame Vidya at all...she seems good to me and Rani filled the other part...PERFECT

Rani didn't deserve a best actor nomination. She was pretty bad in NOKJ. Her acting was over-the-top for me to watch...

But Rani is a great actress otherwise, and I think if her next releases are able to become hit, then she can.
She still has somewhat of a path left in Bollywood to go on, unlike her other contemporaries like Priety.
