'Talaash' postponed to Nov. because of 'Kahaani'?

What is the kahaani behind the sudden postponement of Aamir Khan's Talaash?

The latest news that comes out on Aamir Khan's birthday doesn't seem to be the one that would make his fans happy. Recent trade news have confirmed that Aamir Khan's much anticipated film Talaash is postponed - and by a good half an year. The film which was originally scheduled to release on June 1 is now postponed by as long as six months and shall be releasing on November 30.

It comes as a surprise because the principal shooting of the film is complete and even the post production shouldn't be a deterrent for the release date to be postponed by such a long gap. So then why this sudden postponement? Reportedly the reason cited by the makers of Talaash is that Aamir Khan would be busy with the shooting of his television show which is supposed to go on air around the same time. Thereby he won't be having sufficient time to promote Talaash. So they decided to push Talaash by a few months.

However another theory that is doing rounds of the trade circle suggests a new angle for the postponement of Talaash. Apparently industry insiders claim that there could be similarities between the basic plot of Talaash and the recently released film Kahaani. Both the films are suspense-thrillers. And both the films have a protagonist in search of someone. The resemblance might not essentially be intentional but perhaps on realizing it the makers of Talaash want to play it safe.

Vidya Balan's Kahaani has unanimously won rave reviews and the buzz around the film is extremely positive. If there is any truth to similarities between the two films, it only makes sense to have some gap between the two considering Kahaani would be in fresh public memory even in June. What has added fuel to the speculations is the fact that Talaash is postponed immediately after the release of Kahaani. However that could also be merely a coincidence. The only confirmed common link between the two films as of now is actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who stars in both. (He played the intelligence officer Khan in Kahaani).

If the film is postponed because of Kahaani then I think its more for the climax than the storyline.Kahaani had an unexpected end and Talaash's tagline says the answer lies within.So i think this movie too will have an unexpexted ending.

I think the climax might be unexpected so if it is then its better to have a gap between Kahaani and Talaash...that would be the smart thing to do. Comparisons will still take place of course, but it won't be as bad.
