Hey everyone, I know I haven't been active for some time on this forum but it is mainly because my exams and assigments were due and I have done most of them for now.
Coming to my post.
I was looking at how beautiful Shiv-Sati relationship is. They are my OTP for sure now. I just find the relationship so real, dimensional and believable.
There is Sati who is in love with someone who she is not supposed to love yet is destined to be with. She is unaware of him and his powers but is completely besotted by the aura and magic.
Pehli nazar mein
Kaise jaado kar diya
Tera ban baita hai
Mera jiya
She is was in denial for weeks till the wonderful Madanike came along and showed her the path to what would become her destiny. I felt the understanding part of Sati realising how she felt is not as Filmy as critics pointed out. It was realistic in the sense that Sati was brought up like a Princess and she could help but fall in love with someone who she knew wasn't right for her. But who is to decide what is right and wrong? She just felt drawn towards Him.
Ek ajnabi sa ehsaas dil ko sataye
shayad yahi to pyaar hai
betabiyon mein dhadkan meri chal paye
shayad yahi to pyaar hai
kuch bhi kaha na
kuch bhi suna na
phir bhi
bechain dil hai humara
behke kadam hai
mushkil main hum hai
dekho
sambhle bhala kaise yaara
chahe bina bhi
nazdeek hum chale aaye
shayad yahi toh pyaar hai
In every love story there is the point when the love isn't reciprocated. This is true in reality that the person we love doesn't love us but from Shiv's point of view this wasn't
that he didn't love her. It was that his heart had been broken so much from the first time that he had not been able to come over the grief.
Tere bin main yun kaise jiya
Kaise jiya tere bin
Tere bin main yun kaise jiya
Kaise jiya tere bin
Then Sati now completely in love with her seperated other half is trying to persue him but he is a mystery to her. She wants to understand him and who he but she keeps coming up against more and more questions.
Her past as his missing part is blurred to her and it makes the person watching so feel for her, because in our life it has happened that we meet someone who seem to know for years and years but in reality we know nothing but a name. So her feelings and emotions are all so real that we can understand her anguish but for mee, what drew me in was imaging the real Sati who has now realized she is in love with Shiv? Did that make her scared or weak or happy or how would Mata Sati really have reacted to her emotions.
A young girl stepping into adulthood. It couldn't have been easy for her and especially when she knew her father detested the one she wanted to be married to.
The show may not be logical and correct according with religious accuracy but I would like to applaud the writers who have created such a wonderful character in Sati. She is not a card-board cut out, actually far from it. Here the show has shown how she must have felt. The emotions that were brought up and the sort of questions she had for herself. Was she being selfish to her parents by choosing to fall in love with Shiv? but then again did she have any choice? Not really. It wasn't her fault at all.
Her turmoil on responisibilty and love is amazingly shown here. She doesn't have the answers. She was just a human afterall who had a divine and eternal bond with God. A bond of true love. A love that no-one had ever seen. A love that would eventually become a ideal for hopless romantics.
