Devyani's marriage was the most failed one. Was it an arranged one or love marriage?

Uttara's was a love marriage. It failed rather miserably.

Vidya's marriage was a big farce and a cruel joke.

Priya's marriage has seen ups and downs and it is a love marriage.

One more love marriage is going to happen between Devyani and subhankar.

And Uttara's had an affair to remember and also forget.

And men are to be blamed atleast in 2 cases. Devyani and Uttara.

One was killed and one was jailed. And one went abroad. The remaining one is blissfully reunited. While the other one is waiting for an answer.

On the wedding anniversary of Gaurav-Vidya, Bauji points out to Devyani that just like how Brahma-Devyani act before others that they are a happy couple, so do Gaurav-Vidya and that the children are living the same lie as the parents!

I think Vidya's was the most miserable marriage. Atleast Devyani had happy days in the early part of her marriage when Brahma was straightforward, when they weren't as rich. But Vidya never got anything from the marriage! Neither the love of her husband nor being atleast in the same house as him - he downright left with his partner to settle abroad not even letting her know!

Uttara went through a lot in her marriage, after which she having an affair with her own brother-in-law is downright disgusting! Although she had a failed marriage behind her, I just cant think of how you can go ahead and screw up someone else's marriage and that too your own sister's! Although Devyani's wasn't happy in the marriage(Brahma being a corrupt officer + womanizer), Uttara had no right to screw it up even more for her!

Uttara experienced physical torture along with mental torture and humiliation. Devyani endured mental torture and intimidation for more than 2 decades. In case of Vidya, Gaurav was more gentle and he even tried to break off with Karan for Vidya's sake.

Vidya is too young and yet she showed extraordinary sense of understanding. Gaurav did not say even a bye to her. Strange. Basic courtesy for the one who saved his life and served him. If the actor continued to work, maybe the story would have been somewhat different. Gaurav would have phoned her occasionally and kept some sort of communication with the family.

I think there r many failed marriages in this world in real but the partners dont separate bcoz of a majboori, for example, kids, society, no other place to go to, etc.

The partner might not b as bad as bramha (he is an extreme case!) but there r people like him. There r people like Uttara's husbands. Wives just dont speak up and compromises sometimes bcoz of kids, bcoz of society, or bcoz she doesnt have anywhere else to go. I m sure there r (sadly) a lot of women like Devyani who spend all their life to make their home and they just dont want it to break so they dont say anything and try to live a lie. Its very hard to make a big decision in a marriage and its easy for others to say do this do that.

I feel the worst for Vida She basically had no marriage. Poor girl I hope they bring cheenu (minus the mustache) back!!

@rightnow ... Devyanis was an arranged marriage.

Vidya hasnt experienced what its like to be in a real marriage. The sad part is she is still not breaking away from it. Living in Jakhar house is one thing but to still keep on putting the sindoor and not filing for divorce herself is another. Gaurav is not going to come back and if he does it wont be for her. Its time she started to think about herself.

sid unfortunately there are lot of women with marriages and situations like Uttara, Vidya and Devyani

I have not seen a lot of issues like Aditya Priya where indian women walk out on men on the first misstep (that too primarlily by his father)

I empathize more with teh likes of Uttara and Devyani. Actually Uttara was my fav until the affair

I really really liked her

she was optimistic, mischievous and full of life

the affair was just such a sorry thing to happen

even then I felt she was emotionally vulnerable but I totally hated her afterwards when she tried to act like the wife on purpose

that was not vulnerability that was selfishness and she was being ehsan faramosh for her sister's hospitality, Adi's love and regard as a nephew and Gaurav's affection and protection as the older nephew

Devyani pretty much dug her own grave by hanging around once the kids were grown up and there was no custody issue

Vidya was just insane falling in love with a guy she knew was gay when a healthy male who she was compatible with was right there. I can understand why she did not want to go back to the village but not to consider divorce and marrying Chinu or seeking another life with no lies was

the worst was when she tried to be matchmaker for the boys

Yeah I don't understand why Vidya is still wearing sindoor ... I know she's very conservative in that sense and she would probably never even think of a divorce but it's still weird.

When Priya wasn't with Aditya she wasn't wearing and that wasn't even officially over for sure whereas in Vidya's case it's definitely 100% done.

If Gaurav had married an educated girl like Priya, would she have handled the situation in a different way?

Devyani chose a girl who is from a conservative family and not educated well as well. So that the girl will not be too inquisitive and may put up with the situation? Gaurav is a far more sophisticated person even when compared to Adi. A girl like Aarti would have understood the situation and all those dramas could have been avoided.

Some women marry gay men knowingly for various reasons.

Devyani comes out as a short sighted person atleast in Gaurav's case. She must have thought that in the interest of family honour or maryada, Vidya will live with that just as she asked Priya to shut up and carry on even after knowing Brahma's truth.

Cheenu without mustache will look like an adolescent boy. They can replace him with a more macho man.

Vidya wearing sindoor. Officially the marriage is not over. And Vidya still considers only Gaurav as her husband.
