Vidya still sporting the sindoor means she still is and wants to be Gaurav's wife, she technically would be the only one, as he isn't going to marry any other woman! lol

But from Vidya's POV, its not easy for her to just stop loving her husband just coz there can't be any physical relation with him. I would say Gaurav is the best husband of all. He respected her and also took care of her, which Brahma never did and Adi could never do (there was a time when he was mad with Priya for her not being on his side on some issue, but slept with her that nite and then in the morning, he was back to being mad with her! ; blindly believe whatever his sicko dad told him and treating Priya like crap for standing by the truth).

Gaurav is a better man than his dad or his bro. He had proved that time and again. Although I said this few times before, they should atleast try to hire some other actor to bring Gaurav back to India, the message of Gaurav-Karan having to leave the country to live peacefully kinda defeats the whole purpose of showing gay love in positive light, which they had been doing till now.

Better to love a man like Gaurav silently, than married to morons who treat women like some trash.
There is always some sweetness in bitterness.

sid unfortunately there are lot of women with marriages and situations like Uttara, Vidya and Devyani

I have not seen a lot of issues like Aditya Priya where indian women walk out on men on the first misstep (that too primarlily by his father)

I empathize more with teh likes of Uttara and Devyani. Actually Uttara was my fav until the affair

I really really liked her

she was optimistic, mischievous and full of life

the affair was just such a sorry thing to happen

even then I felt she was emotionally vulnerable but I totally hated her afterwards when she tried to act like the wife on purpose

that was not vulnerability that was selfishness and she was being ehsan faramosh for her sister's hospitality, Adi's love and regard as a nephew and Gaurav's affection and protection as the older nephew

Devyani pretty much dug her own grave by hanging around once the kids were grown up and there was no custody issue

Vidya was just insane falling in love with a guy she knew was gay when a healthy male who she was compatible with was right there. I can understand why she did not want to go back to the village but not to consider divorce and marrying Chinu or seeking another life with no lies was

the worst was when she tried to be matchmaker for the boys

There are more women like Devyani who will put up whatever comes their way for their children, parents and society and i'm afraid this attitude will never die.

There are also couples who go on honeymoon and come back separated, heading for a divorce, believe me that does happen.

When Vidya fell in love with Gaurav she diidnt know he was gay. Gaurav did string her along with Arti which made Vidya want to fight for her marriage, she cant be blamed there. Gaurav played with her feelings and in a way used her too as a shield to protect himself from the reality of his sexuality. He was sefish.

I too liked Uttara in the beginning. She was the fun loving aunt adored by all. Even though she had her own problems with Rishabh, she hid it quite well.

Yeah I don't understand why Vidya is still wearing sindoor ... I know she's very conservative in that sense and she would probably never even think of a divorce but it's still weird.

When Priya wasn't with Aditya she wasn't wearing and that wasn't even officially over for sure whereas in Vidya's case it's definitely 100% done.

Priya was wearing sindoor after she left Aditya. It was only after she moved in with SJ and most of us commented about MJ not noticing the sindoor did she stop wearing it.
See, the CVs do visit the forum.

Loving Gaurav without even expecting love back and calculating what she would gain and not in the marriage with him are two different things. And Vidya is apparently not the calculating type.

I never said Gaurav was the 'perfect' husband, but he was better than the rest. He was forced into the marriage by Devyani, its not easy being gay and coming out in India. The frustration , helplessness and the guilt of ruining Vidya's life made him vent on her few times and take drastic steps - trying to make Vidya hate him by making her feel that he was interested in Aarti, so that she might leave him and find a better suitor.

For whatever reason Adi was mad with Priya, that doesn't justify him sleeping with her for the night, if you mad with someone, you stay away from them for anything and everything. He was using her that night, if you respect your wife, you wouldn't do that even during times of conflict with her.
I didn't say that incident happened coz of Brahma, I meant all those times when he was not able to sense -
how they were so rich on a SSP's salary
how is it that everyone in the family would go against one person. Still all that he would do is yell 'jhoot, jhoot!' for whatever they say against Brahma.
he was not being able to see why Priya was not able accept Brahma as her dad-in-law when she was able to accept the rest in the family as her own.
Any sane person, would want to atleast try to analyse as to why everyone in the family is against this one person, but he was arrogant enough to side his dad and hit Priya and wanted to divorce her.
He has to learn to use his brains at times, not only see what others show him.

Gaurav was tormented coz he couldn't live the life he wanted and was forced to ruin Vidya's life, which made him do few things which hurt Vidya, but atleast he was more perceptive and understanding in his situation than Brahma and Adi were in theirs.

If Gaurav had married an educated girl like Priya, would she have handled the situation in a different way?

Devyani chose a girl who is from a conservative family and not educated well as well. So that the girl will not be too inquisitive and may put up with the situation? Gaurav is a far more sophisticated person even when compared to Adi. A girl like Aarti would have understood the situation and all those dramas could have been avoided.

Some women marry gay men knowingly for various reasons.

Devyani comes out as a short sighted person atleast in Gaurav's case. She must have thought that in the interest of family honour or maryada, Vidya will live with that just as she asked Priya to shut up and carry on even after knowing Brahma's truth.

That's a really interesting question. But I have a feeling that she liked Vidya for her personality as well. After all Devyani had hopes that Gaurav would change after marriage so she wanted someone simple, patient, and sweet. Prior to Karan's arrival, few people suspected Gaurav was gay. Therefore it's possible that someone who was educated and outspoken like Priya would not have thought about Gaurav's sexuality at first. If you were in Vidya's shoes, it's easy to blame yourself first... Remember when she was trying really hard to grab Gaurav's attention in the beginning?

I know Devyani had the best interests for Gaurav but it's hard to overlook the injustice that occured with Vidya. If she was more educated and modern like Priya, it may have been easier for her to move on and find someone else to have a normal married life with. But because of Vidya's sweet simplicity, it was and still is difficult. Vidya is my favorite character and I hope everything works out for her.
