"I'm engaged."
Absolute silence met Aasha's terse announcement.
Chuck, who had finally come to the conclusion that Blair was indeed right, and that nothing about Aasha was predictable, merely lounged back in his seat, and waited for this play to unfold.
If he was right, and let's face facts, he was Chuck Bass, he was always right, even if his wife didn't always admit to the fact, this was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
Aasha's father on the other hand, seemed to have lost what remaining cool he had, apparently the thought of his daughter walking out of an upscale New York hotel in a state of undress was overshadowed by the thought of her having done so while being engaged. The irony of it was that Arnav was sure to be putting a whole different mental spin on the situation, not that the actual one would be calm him down anymore than this was but still, better the devil you know.
"Are you trying to tell me," Arnav enunciated with exacting preciseness, "Your no-excuses-explanation for how it is you are in the present predicament of having walked out of this this hotel, in a state of tabloid documented indecency, is that you are engaged? And you were what leaving your fiance's room?"
"No!" cried Aasha, wincing as she realized exactly how this sounded, looking desperately at her God-father for help, as her father seared her with a blazing look she had only ever seen him use on impertinent teen-wannabe-boyfriends as he silkily asked, "There's more?"
At the rate this conversation was going Chuck wondered if it would at all be prudent to proffer another significant piece of this puzzle, which had just gotten all the more jagged in the light of his god-daughter's declaration.
After waiting for a long uneasy moment as his god-daughter evidently was looking for a reasonable way to explain herself to her usually doting father, Chuck decided it was in her best interests and in that of his friends medical one's that he smooth this over, and just as he was about to explain that Aasha indeed had not spent the night with her fianc in this hotel (the mere thought of what Khushi would do to him if that had been true sending ice down his spine), while pointedly leaving out the fact that the room in question had had another inhabitant, until he got the full story out of the two people involved.
Coincidently also being two people who had gone through insane lengths to avoid each other for about six years now.
Only when it came to second generation Waldorf-Bass's and Gupta-Raizada's, nothing ever went as planned.
For just as Chuck leaned forward to calm his soon-to-be-hyperventilating friend, his son in a tone of amused indolence, decided to speak up.
"Well, if it helps, she didn't spend the night with her fiance if that's what you're thinking uncle..."
Bloody Hell, thought Chuck, his ever composed gaze snapping to his son, he wouldn't.
"'...she spent it with me."
And that, Chuck Bass mentally noted, was why the younger generation were all idiots.

Hours Earlier
"Aasha?" came the slightly high-pitched voice Damien couldn't not recognize.
Aasha?
"Aasha Raizada?" he asked stunned.
The Scarlett siren was Aasha Raizada!?
Suddenly as if in a trance Damien felt the flashbacks that were about to flood his mind.
Six years.
Bloody Hell it'd been six years.
She looked so different!
What the hell was she doing drunk on the roof last night?
And that bumbling idiot he'd dispatched, who was that?
Since when was she in New York?
Why hadn't his mother said anything?
"Who is this?" snapped the suddenly cool voice that had replaced the earlier worried one. Either way it was a voice Damien knew only too well.
"It's Damien, mother."

Aasha Singh Raizada was very careful not to let herself look back, even once, as she hot-footed it away from the ...hauntingly familiar stranger ...even before she'd fled his hotel room, something about that man just seemed damned familiar.
Shaking her head as if to clear it, she stepped into The Empire's revolving doors, smiling softly as she thought of the first time she could remember coming to The Empire as a toddler.
"Aasha!" called out her mother fretfully; while a bright-eyed Aasha continued enchantingly to press her chubby hands against the clear glass on the revolving doors and force the door into continuous circles.
Her mother who was now looking to her father for help, was doubly irritated to find him chuckling at his daughter's antics, and instead insisting that she go in and greet Blair while he dealt with her.
"You going to keep doing that, Pumpkin?" her father had asked with an indulgent smile as she broke out into a toothy grin and nodded her head furiously only to accidently hit herself on the brass bar and plop herself down on the marbled floor.
Her father who was half torn between worry and laughter, had tried unsuccessfully to coax her out, unsurprised as he met with a stubbornness that although barely five years old rivaled his own.
But there had always been one person Aasha's stubbornness had never applied to. One person who could get her to do anything he wanted, with a simple look.
And even before he made his way over to the revolving doors, his firm footsteps had Aasha looking up and even her father smiled as he sat back on his haunches waiting as his daughter, too stubborn mere moments ago to even come out of the glass doors, climbing to her own chubby two feet and whirling out of the door like the force of nature she was, a bright smile on her face as she'd caught sight of the person attached to those steady footsteps, straight into his waiting arms.

Bloody Hell.
Motioning silently that he would have to take this particular call, Arnav slipped out of his booth, not even bothering to glare at Chuck for the amused chuckle that followed him.
Not even noticing the young girl who'd just walked into the bar, and made a beeline for the now standing, formidable figure of Chuck Bass.

When Aasha had been ushered into the cleared out bar, she had expected to run into her God-Father.
Not just then, but later.
Or if her Dad actually was super pissed ... maybe together, but her eyes bright with excitement as she saw his slow smirk seep across his face...she was suddenly that same five year old in the revolving doors.
Barely pausing at the doorway and completely ignoring the hunched gentleman on his way out the bar's side door, Aasha Singh Raizada instead hurled herself much as her five year old self had into the arms of New York's most ruthless hotelier.

Hey Upper East Sider's, Gossip Girl here.
Your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's Elite.
History as I said earlier always has its way of repeating itself 'but sometimes, it's not about what it repeats, but what it doesn't.
Lost friends now morphing into sworn enemies'almost like an awkward rendition of our favorite UES couples romance history in reverse'
Either way, it seems there's a lot more than what meets the eye'..
Although that striking white overcoat and Gucci hand bag are very soothing as they do meet said eyes, at least our Damned Prince seems to think so, he can hardly take his eyes off of Lady Scarlett here, and what's this...did the Damned Bass just follow his Scandal Princess into The Empire?
...oh my...
XOXO
