hello my dears... i have told u that Geet is a witness here of Channi's murder... this is only a small piece of information for the back story... Channi's husband and his family troubles also form the base to the story and also relates to Geet's friends... her strong friendship and her dedication for seeking justice will land her into troubles from which Maan will stand as the supporting pillar... initially both will be unknown to the fact that they compliment each other then his family is more than willing to help as humans and also family... ALL THIS WILL SURFACE AND RESURFACE ALONG THE COURSE OF THE STORY...

Second thing is - Dev will be an easily manoeuvred puppet in the hands of Naintara who is a total bitch... she can do anything to attain her GOALS...

PART 2

The groom's family had arrived and was the same family which had an encounter with Geet earlier in the day. Dev Khurana, the same guy who happened to help Geet get her upper garment or dupatta had tried for a dramatic entry when the Handa family asked for the groom, shocking Geet to insanity. With the initial introductions, the Handa family got acquainted to Kamya (Dev's sister, 23 years of age), Pammi (Dev's mother) and Naintara parjaiji (supposedly wife of Dev's elder brother and the other lady in the car, 24years of age) and vice-versa. After the introductions, Geet wanted to meet Dev in private but when she voiced her intentions daarji and veerji shot deathly glares towards her though strangely neither Dev nor did his family objected, on the contrary they actually supported the view. On top of the Handa mansion terrace where Geet and Dev met, she told him that she wanted to pursue a career (not revealing any further even about her educational qualifications) and might not want to get wedded without assurance, to which Dev was completely shocked as he had not expected that to come (he actually has another devious plan which will be revealed later on). After the meeting, much to Geet's surprise the alliance was accepted with the condition that the wedding was to be conducted within two days (Geet had somehow figured that the groom were searching for an uneducated to a less educated girl with a heavily orthodox and ignorant family). Geet's family agreed to it as well with certain initial objections. Also in these two days, Dev tried every possible way to impress Geet, making promises (which were hollow, explained further in the story), etc. and making Geet meet him against the wishes and "rules" of daarji and veerji. Geet started to consider trying to give it a second chance, but now her mind and brain was going hard on her heart to accept Dev for her life-partner though her heart was suggesting otherwise. The wedding has been planned with the presence of just the two families and not a single third party as witness was intimated about it. With such less time at hand, the Handas decided to conduct the wedding at a temple at a place called Salempur near Ludhiana, so both the families travelled to the location in separate cars where they happened to stop at a Gurudwara, on the way as there was some kind of a fare going on there and they even thought of completing any left over shopping.

Inside the Gurudwara, Geet was reminiscing to all the events that had taken place since the arrival of Dev and his family. Firstly, Dev agreeing to her request of meeting at the terrace, secondly, asking her to meet outside against her daarji's and veerji's interests, thirdly, being overtly sweet to her and her younger siblings, fourthly, somehow missing of her family jewellery though thankfully the heirloom pieces were not out, finally last but not the least and the most important one of which she had noticed was that Naintara asked her to sign a blank sheet telling her it is required for the visa purposes by the Canadian embassy which she knew was pointless as visa application would never require one to sign a blank sheet. She had even heard Naintara and Dev spat over something she wasn't sure of and met the lady by the market-place of Hoshiarpur who seem to hide as well as reveal something about Dev and his family. All these were as shock to her as frightening, she had also seen lust in Dev's eyes which looked like love but somewhere she would name it only lust. Geet decided that she would not wear the heirloom pieces of jewellery on her "wedding", she convinced her father (the only one in her family she can rely on with her life) against wearing them but was scared to reveal her findings to him still she played safe asking heirlooms to kept safe for Rajji's wedding as she was sure that whatever be their intentions, they could not lie with something very pure and divine like marriage, with this assurance she went ahead with the flow.

At the fare near the Gurudwara, everybody started to purchase different items when suddenly Geet happens to see a fortune teller and gets excited to know about her future which seemed to be in oblivion and in a maze unsolved. There the fortune teller predicts that she would find her life-partner, her soul-mate that very day, but Bubbly interjected saying that Geet already found hers to which he gave her an amulet and told her that to wear it on him and the couple would be blessed and be together forever. She stared at it amazed at how much powers that tiny little amulet could hold which could keep her and her life together at all times. After all this, Titto comes to call the girls as it was time to leave and Rajji comes to tell Geet that Dev wanted to meet her behind one of the stalls, Geet obliges and moves forward to meet him, but by the time she reaches the place hiding and dodging from everybody else, but Dev was nowhere to be seen and she started frantically searching everyone as they had all left with the misconception that Geet was with the other leaving her out at the fare. Geet started to panic as she did not find anybody around.

PART 3

Geet had started to frantically search for everyone without luck by then, but a few rouge eve-teasers began to stalk her scaring her, a few encounters later with them she ran frightened and banged into the 28 year old man who entered her town when Dev had entered but very far from them, the man who has the torn part of Geet's dupatta. She asked help from the stranger drinking a canned drink she banged into as she felt he was a respectable person but did not know that he was an arrogant one. This arrogant young man just shrugged her off his jacket to which she was tightly clutching; he just very rudely and harshly refused to help her, but in the process her amulet got stuck to his jacket zip and nobody was aware of it. Sensing no help coming in the arrogant stranger's silently expressed disgust, Geet started running to escape from those thugs. Fortunately or unfortunately (I can't decide which is the most appropriate at this moment), she fell into a pond near by; she had run into the adjacent forest where at the edge of a mound of earth her dupatta got stuck to a tree and while getting it freed she slipped over the wet mud and fell into the waters screaming for help as she did not know to swim.

Suddenly the arrogant but well built young man gets the message that the girl was in real danger as her dupatta which got stuck to the tree comes flying to him and he hears her screaming for help, and he plunges into the waters in an attempt to save her and turns out that he is the same guy Geet banged into earlier. She ran behind him for help again to get her to Salempur so as to reunite with her family after they had steered clear of the pond, even bearing to his arrogant and rude behaviour towards her. He got irritated with Geet's innocently done antics and continuous pleadings to help her, so he harshly made her sit in his jeep and left her at the highway cross-roads near Salempur. He got disgusted with her innocent yet continuous ramblings about how scared she is with her veerji and daarji. By this time the family had reached the town and had found out that Geet was missing so they trailed back their route, when they found Geet at the cross-roads. The reunion was kind of awkward as daarji was suppressing his anger as well as Brij veerji's, because for them it is supposed to be Geet's fault that she got left behind and warned her against it; Dev tried to be sweet and comforting but was cut by Brij veerji.

Geet's mind/ brain was continuously trying to force her heart to accept and love Dev, but somewhere her heart there was a rebellion which was on the verge of being suppressed. By afternoon after they returned, she was readied for her mehendi function in a gorgeous friendly-green outfit by her cousin and bhabhi. As she was getting ready, Brij barged in cursing Geet and bad-mouthing her, but this time she was not letting anyone suppress her. That young man had harshly and tauntingly told her that she was herself letting people ground her and she would remain the ever so helpless one till she wanted to change the situation herself; he kind of hurt her ego, aimed at the right spot so were her thoughts and mentally thanked him for the unknown help he did to her. Geet slowly and softly answered her brother back which angered him more but thanks to daarji calling him he left her. Rajji and Bubbly tried to console an upset Geet saying that a woman's fate was being suppressed and being beaten with no fault of hers, there was no escape to which Geet answered them defensively about her fate and encouraging them to think about theirs, she was unconsciously having a liking to that young man who helped her when no-one was there.

In the evening during the ceremony, to everyone's surprise Geet was looking as if an angel had walked down from the heavens in her outfit and she was behaving as if a new-to-be-bride would behave, shy and coy and sometimes stealing glances of her soon-to-be. She was excited to get married which was showing as somewhere inside her a ray of hope had crept in that her husband would love her and so would she, and since she had been trying to con her heart to love Dev, no one could stop her from enjoying life (that is what she was assuming as she doesn't know what is in store for her). The green clad angel was in a fix as to which design of mehendi should she ask the girls to put on her hands and to top it all her mother was also busy so were her aunt, sister and sister-in-law, then suddenly Dev happened to notice her restlessness and helped her choose one, which was put on her hands but then a certain urge to apply another particular design had crept into her which she did not understand. This urge overwhelmed her to an extent that made her believe she was destined to become somebody's bride and the relation was to stay intact till eternity, her mind mistook this certain somebody to be Dev but her heart protested against it.

The day of the wedding had arrived, much to Brij's annoyance Geet was not budging from the fact that whatever happened during the whole fair fiasco and Geet being left behind was not her fault, and the bride and the groom adorned with the best of clothes and jewellery were brought to the avenue the SHIV temple where a sacred fire-place and the mandap were arranged and the groom (Dev) was religiously paying ablutions to the sacred fire. Geet was being brought to the area when she was in mixed thoughts, confused thoughts whether to listen to her mind or go by her heart, but then though she was in a fix through out the ceremony some thing nice was happening which was noticed only by the priest of the temple. On the other hand, the arrogant and rude young man who had saved Geet from drowning was also there at that time in another section of the temple (though he could not see this section) to get to know the whereabouts of somebody he was searching. The nice thing happening throughout the ceremony which was witnessed by the main priest of the temple was that Geet was in a religious sense getting married to handsome young yet arrogant man who had saved her earlier and also has her amulet (meant for her soul-mate).

[P.S. Till I reveal his name I would like to call him arrogant stranger.]

GUYS JUST WANT TO SAY... GEET IS A BIT CONFUSED ABOUT HER OWN FEELINGS AS SHE IS NEW TO THEM... SHE AGREED TO THE ALLIANCE BECAUSE SHE FOUND THE GROOM'S FAMILY OPEN MINDED AND ALSO HER BELIEF IN THE INSTITUTION IS SO STRONG THAT NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE CAN NOT DO WRONG OR PLAY IN THE NAME OF THE SACRED INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE...
THERE IS ANOTHER REASON TO THINK AS SUCH IN THE PAST... I WILL REVEAL IT LATER BUT SOON ENOUGH...
