All the rituals which were happening between Geet and Dev for both their family members were in real sense occurring between Geet and arrogant stranger, even in religious sense that the relation which was getting bound was between Geet and the arrogant stranger. When the bride's forehead was to be adorned with sindoor, then the sindoor which he offered to God flew in the gusty wind and fell on Geet. The seven sacred circumambulations about the sacrificial fire was completed with the arrogant stranger as in a hurry Dev did it only 6 times indicating in-completion of the ritual, another story that none noticed but Titto did never to spill because he did not like Dev for some unknown reason to him. Another ritual where a sacred and blessed sash was to be tied to peepal tree so to keep the couple prosperous, here also Geet had tied the sash but one of its knots got loose which later was noticed by the arrogant stranger who tied it properly, as all these rituals were successfully completed in the eyes of the family between Geet and Dev, there was only one witness to the truth. The truth that the pastimes of the Lord were such that He made and blessed the arrogant stranger and Geet a couple, this truth had only one witness, the head priest of the temple. When the rituals of wedding were complete and it was time for farewell, suddenly the arrogant stranger's chain fell down and the priest picked it up and gifted it to Geet saying that it was the God's gift for her future and never to part it from her, which was later realised by the arrogant stranger to be missing and lost after futile attempts of searching. Geet's family returned dejected as Dev's family claimed to be in a hurry and the farewell could not be done from their home and also that no third party or person could be called due to short time and Geet's marriage could not be announced, which was a bit odd.

The wedding car which had Dev and Geet and their other car was taking Naintara, Kamya and Pammi to their destination, their guest-house, but on the way Dev's car while passing through Hoshiarpur broke down somewhere near Mukherian and the whole family had to shelter at an inn nearby on the highway. By the time they settled for the night, it started to rain and Geet went to the loft to enjoy the rain when she heard the voices of the family bickering about their plan getting successful which she heard it all and went to face them. There after a horrible confrontation with the family she came to know that Naintara is Dev's wife and they were conning village belles, ruining innocent young girls' lives and duping unsuspecting families for money and she in agitation gives some of her brain to Dev, also her ornaments were thrown to their faces (Geet kept the chain the priest had gifted her to herself) and when she ran out depressed where she bumped into the arrogant stranger who was also in the same inn for his own reasons. Inside, Dev's conscience was taking him on a guilt trip but then suddenly Naintara brainwashed him otherwise and that fool for a Kamya, where as Pammi got scared to death from her daughter-in-law. After the confrontation, Geet was very depressed and ran out when she bumped into the arrogant stranger who was again rude to her which irked her to the core; she lost her cool and blasted him to know a bit of chivalry how to confront any depressed person or at least a person, him not being a God. She was so disgusted after all the happenings of the evening that she very rudely stated that no one could ever love the heartless person he was, but those words even though not being new to him hit him harder than ever.

After the confrontation with the arrogant stranger (here I would say, that this confrontation with him did not upset her in any way in fact it provoked her to complain), when she tried to calm herself down and was planning to file a complaint against the family then suddenly Naintara harshly dragged her into the room and started to reprimand and beat her unconscious and left her for dead. Naintara had beaten Geet to hide her sins, she had even blackmailed Geet that if Geet did not cooperate then Rajji's life will also be ruined in a similar way by her, and Geet was compelled to do as said. Naintara blackmailed her to such an extent that she found herself and her spirit crumbling down as a castle of cards. All this time when Naintara was brainwashing the Khuranas, she had heavily drugged Dev into believing that he was sleeping with Geet. On the other hand when Geet could not take any more physical assault and had fainted, she undressed Geet so that in the morning it would feel like Geet lost herself to him. The next morning, Dev and his family, who got ready before Geet, went to airport along with her. Here they were sweet talking with her while Naintara and Dev injected her with a sedative which would render Geet unconscious for about an hour or so. Medically this sedative was having a carcinogenic effect on Geet due to the previous night's thrashings and also due to thrashings previously given to her by her daarji and veerji, as she always used to secretly go against their wishes to help her friends and her parents also used to encourage her. Dev and his family had left her at the airport and then the airport staff detained her for a day within which they asked questions rudely and berated her for being a supposedly characterless lady and such a brainless girl which terrorised her to the core. Next day the Handa males reached Amritsar where Geet was detained and daarji was furious assuming it was Geet's fault, he never tried to understand that she did not do anything wrong, so were the thoughts of Brij veerji, but her uncle and father somehow handled the situation and all went home.

The Handa's had reached home, but through out the way Geet had been subject to distrustful and deadly glares from Brij and daarji, Geet's tauji and papaji were pondering the situation and finally after about two days of pondering and investigation they all reached to a conclusion that they were duped for money and assets, till then Geet was devastated to even leave her room. Geet was scared for Rajji's and Titto's future which Naintara swore to ruin.
