Chapter 59

“Hey, what are you doing here?” Suneel questioned noticing Geet by the printer.

“Just printing off some things” Geet answered, “It's the last day for the other teams” she reminded.

“Ah yes, the other two mansions would be empty with them all leaving tomorrow” Suneel nodded.

“Yeah, 5-6 people don’t have be stuffed into one room anymore. 2-3 in one room could do” she answered.

“Its nice the way everyone is staying, we're all getting to know more about one another”.

Geet hummed nodding her head and focused on the printed documents.

Suneel smiled leaning against the door frame watching his daughter in silence, his youngest daughter has come such a very very long way.

Geet settled on the windowsill staring out, her eyes drew to her engagement ring then over her shoulder where fiancé slept on his stomach peacefully.

She stepped down walking over to the bed, settling on the edge she reached over caressing his cheek. She leaned down pressing a kiss to his cheek.

She chuckled seeing Adrian's lips tilt, he opened his eyes turning onto his back and pulled her into his arms, brushing his fingers through her hair he cupped her neck.

“Hey Pearson” he whispered.

Geet's smile faltered, she frowned and pulled away hurrying towards the washroom.

Adrian followed behind her concerned, as he pushed the door open he saw Geet crouched over the toilet puking.

Geet glanced over feeling her father's presence and arched her brows.

“I'm proud of you” Suneel straightened and walked over towards her, he enveloped Geet into his arms pressing a kiss to her temple. “I love you” he murmured.

“I love you too, old man” she whispered tightening her arms around his middle.

“What's with these hugs?” Tara entered arching her brows.

“Dad was just saying how I'm his favourite” Geet informed looking over at her sister.

Suneel chuckled releasing Geet and looked at Tara who smirked.

“You know little sis, that dad loves me more” Tara stuck her tongue out.

“Oh really?” Geet laughed lifting her brows in amusement. “You won how many awards?”

Tara chuckled, “I don’t need an award to get dad's love”.

“Enough, enough” Suneel intervened just as Geet was about to response, he placed his arms around both his daughters and smiled looking between them, “I'm proud of you both and I love you both equally. You're both two halves of my heart, and your mother is my soulmate”.

“Good answer” Geet nodded pressing a kiss to his cheek and turned to the printer.

“Hey, you want to go out for dinner tonight? Sean is treating” Tara asked.

“It’s the last day for the other teams, so we're all going out” Geet passed the ticket she'd printed showing it to Tara.

“Oh wow, everyone is going to love it”

“Yeah” Geet nodded.

“Have you seen Nick?”

“Not yet, I've been here printing these out. I'll search for him” Geet assured.

“Okay, thanks. He's upset with me right now for not hearing him out” Tara explained.

“Oopsie” Geet chuckled, “We all know how he becomes a little mister when he's upset” Geet responded, “I'll go look for him” she told her sister placing the documents away securely and headed out the room.

“Hey kid, you seen Nick?” Geet questioned Kartik finding him sat on the sofa with some of the others chatting away.

“He's outside” Kartik pointed to the backyard.

“What's he doing outside? Is he by himself?” Geet asked though she didn’t wait for answer. She hurried out concerned that he could be alone or may have fallen into the pool. She halted noting her nephew settled comfortably on Maan's lap listening to something that Maan was saying. She watched them curiously as her nephew look so engrossed to whatever he was hearing.

“So, how did you get this one?” Nick pointed to another scar, “Did you see Deadpool get his scars by doing that operation?”

“That movie is for over 18yr olds, how did you watch it?” Maan asked curiously.

“Dad went to sleep on the sofa leaving the tv on” Nick snickered covering his mouth.

“I see” Maan smiled softly.

“Is it soft?” Nick sat up on his knees leaning forward and reached for Maan's cheek, his hand paused mid-way as he caught his Gigi stood behind a couple of feet away.

“Gigi” Nick grinned excitedly climbing down and hurried over. “You're back!” he threw out his arms, Geet smiled crouching down and took him into her arms.

“Hey boo boo” she brushed her fingers through his hair and pressed kisses to his cheek. “How have you been?”

“I'm upset with you, Gigi” Nick pouted his lips, his hands reaching out for her hair curling them around his fingers.

“Oh really? What have I done?” Geet arched her brows.

“You not come and play with me” he mumbled and burrowed his head in the crook of her neck.

Geet chuckled and glanced briefly at Maan who'd stood a couple of feet away, she turned around to leave when she recalled her conversation with Tara. She glanced over at him.

“I'm sorry”

Maan tensed hearing her apologise, he pondered whether she had regretted it. He smiled softly inwardly, he shouldn’t be so surprised. He wished his hood could’ve been pulled down further to avoid looking at her face.

“I apologise for making a move too soon” Geet went on to clarify her apology, “I'm not going to apologise for the… kiss because I don’t regret it”.

He tilted his head up a bit and stared surprised hearing her response, Geet seemed so confident and she didn’t look away from meeting his eyes. She'd instead stared right at him.

He dipped his head down looking away, the intensity of her gaze was too much right now for him. Geet turned and headed inside with her nephew.

She didn’t regret it? Maan sat down pondering over her words. She'd apologised for making a move too soon, instead? He couldn’t wrap his thoughts around her words, he wondered what had that meant though.

This is one of those times, when he really needed to speak to Kirsten but he knew she was flying to San Francisco with the team to catch a serial child killer so he couldn’t even call and disturb her.

He pulled out his phone staring at the screen for some time, he scrolled down the recent contacts and pressed his finger on the call button.

He placed the phone to his ear and listened to the ringing sound.

“Hello”.

“Hey Shirley” Maan answered.

Shirley smiled gently and relaxed comfortable on her chair.

Sean chuckled seeing Geet teasing Nick by hugging and smothering Theresa with a number of kisses, Nick stomped his feet scowling at Theresa.

“I'm not your friend anymore” Nick yelled.

“Okay, my tessi wessi is going to be my best friend right?” Geet brushed her nose against Theresa's making her giggle and kick her legs.

“I'm not marrying you anymore” Nick stated angrily.

“What is he yelling at now?” Tara walked over joining her husband's side.

“Geet holding Theresa” Sean chuckled placing his arm around his wife and together they watched their son and Geet.

“Theresa will marry me then” Geet stuck her tongue out childishly.

“Gigi” Nick whined stepping forward and wrapping both hands around her hips. “You can't marrying Tess, you gotta marry me”.

Geet laughed, “Okay boo” she crouched down pinching his nose teasingly.

“Nick, don’t even think about it” Sean playfully called out seeing Nick secretly reaching out trying to pinch Theresa.

Nick quickly moved his hands behind him and glanced over, “I didn’t do anything”.

“Uh huh” Sean smirked shaking his head. “By the way, what are we all doing today?”.

“That's for me to know and you to find out” Geet winked. “It’s the other teams last day here so we're all going together. I'm just waiting on everybody to finish getting ready”.

“You never told me to get ready, is it formal or informal?” he questioned.

“Well you're dressed fine” Geet answered.

“Just fine?” Sean arched his brows.

Geet glanced over her shoulder smirking, she teasingly perused him, “You're still hot for an old guy” she winked.

“Might I remind you, I'm only 2 years older than you” Sean informed. “Cougar”.

“I'm a hot cougar” Geet joked. “You can be the hot shot sugar daddy”

“Seriously!” Tara scowled looking between Sean and Geet, “My kids are here” she walked over taking Theresa from Geet.

“Hey, I was playing with her” Geet frowned.

“Not whilst you're flirting away with my husband, you’re not” Tara walked. “Nick, come on”.

“What’s a cougar? Can I be a cougar?” Nick looked up interested.

“Geet” Tara hissed scowling.

“Nick shut up, why do you listen to everything and repeat it in front of your mother?” Geet frowned.

“I'm not your friend anymore” Nick stalked off behind his mother.

“Car's going to be here in about 20 minutes, be ready and downstairs” Geet called out.

“I'm going out for some fresh air” Sean chuckled and walked out. Geet followed behind.

“How are you feeling after the win?” Sean asked as they leaned against the wall.

“What do you think?” Geet smiled tilting her head back enjoying the warmth of sun on her face. “You're ruining the air” she added as Sean puffed out the smoke.

“I need one, I've not had one since we'd arrived” he replied. “You heard anything?”

Geet knew what he was asking, “No” she shook her heard smiling faintly pausing thoughtfully. Geet then turned her head looking at Sean, “I kissed… Maan”.

“Oh… wow” Sean looked at her completely surprised. “Since… when… how?”

“Two nights ago, I just… It…”

“You liked it?” he questioned.

“I don’t regret it and I wouldn’t mind doing it again” she replied, “But, he was hesitant and… he didn’t really respond. So, I went and apologised today but I let him know that I don’t regret it, I just apologised for kissing him sooner” she added.

Sean smirked, “That's my girl” he chuckled stubbing the cigarette out.

“It’s a stomach bug, stop worrying over me like a hawk” Geet pushed away Adrian’s hand from her forehead as she tried to eat her breakfast in peace.

“Sorry for worrying” Adrian scowled placing his palm once again over her forehead.

“Adrian, I’ve got to head to the airport soon so please just stop it” she sighed heavily.

“Okay, okay I’m just concerned” Adrian pulled his hand away lowering his head and pressed a kiss to her temple. “Maybe you could call in sick”.

“Don’t even go there, I’m going to stab you with that very sharp kitchen knife set you bought the other day” she warned as she finished her cereal stepping down and placed the empty bowl into the sink.

Adrian rolled his eyes and watched his fiancée walk around and stop in front of the floor length mirror in the hallway. Geet perused herself, checking both sides brushing her fingers through her thick hair and turned to look at her fiancé.

“What?” she arched her brows questioningly.

Adrian smiled shaking his head, she walked towards him and stopped, his hands automatically looped around his waist and pulled her close. “You look beautiful”.

“I know” Geet grinned as he lowered his head to kiss her, she smiled sliding her arms around his neck and responded eagerly. She pulled away a moment later shaking her head at him stating, “You’re going to make me late, Mister and mess me up”.

“Fine” he released her reluctantly stealing one quick kiss and moved his hands away. “How long will you be gone for this trip?”

“I’ll be back within 2 days, unless there’s delays or anything else. I’ll keep you updated” she informed. Adrian nodded and bid her goodbye.

He waited for an update which never came.

Geet returned 2 days later as she’d said only to find her apartment empty and cold as if her fiancé hadn’t been staying there whilst she was away.

Geet glanced around as everyone started joining up in the hall, she hadn’t missed the fact that none of Maan’s family weren’t here.

She asked everyone to get into groups of 18 and climb into the mini busses waiting outside.

Whilst everyone started making their way down the steps and outside, Geet looked at her family noticing her mother wasn’t here nor was her father.

“Where’s Mum and Dad?” Geet questioned Tara.

“Aren’t they outside?”

“No, they’ve not gone out” Geet shook her head, “Get into the last bus, that’s ours” she told her sister and climbed the stairs to look for her parents.

“Mum, Dad” Geet called heading towards the room they were staying at, she halted noting Gaurav Khurana on the floor with Savitri, Maan, Rajeev, Rhea along with both her parents were surrounding him.

“Oh, what’s happened?” Geet walked around.

“It’s nothing” Gaurav responded downplaying his injury.

“Think he’s either sprained or could have a fracture on his ankle” Suneel stated.

“You’re all making a big deal out of this, I’m fine” Gaurav shook his head.

“Uh, I think you’re going to have to be checked at a hospital” Geet responded, “This much bruising and skin turning a different colour isn’t just a sprain” she informed.

“Why don’t we take you to the hospital and the rest of you can head off?” Rajeev stated looking at his wife.

“How you and I go with? And let the ladies enjoy the day?” Suneel suggested.

“I’m going to go with dadaji” Maan informed.

“I’ll be coming with you to take care of him” Savitri added nodding her head.

“No one is coming with me, you’ll be stuck for hours. You’re all going on this trip with everyone else” Gaurav stated in his no nonsense tone.

“Gaurav, I am not going to” Savitri started when her husband held his hand up for her.

“Savitri, I’m going to be fine. I’ll be released within a couple of hours, there is no need for everyone to be missing out. You’ll probably be back by the time I return so you can coddle and fuss over me as much as you want then”.

Kartik snorted chuckling and covered it up by coughing.

“Someone has to go with you, dad so I’m coming and you are not going to argue” he replied turning to his mother, “I’ll be there with him so you don’t worry and enjoy the day”.

Savitri sighed looking disappointed and concerned at the same time, she couldn’t help but worry over her husband. She squeezed his hand, Gaurav smiled and reassured her silently. With the help of Rajeev and Suneel, Gaurav was settled in the back seat with his leg stretched out and Rajeev on the driver’s seat. Rhea wrapped her arm around Savitri assuring her that Rajeev is there with Gaurav and he will be fine.

“Where are we headed?” Kartik asked as they all climbed into the mini bus and settled down.

“You’ll see” Geet replied.

Hiya! Not sure how many are actively reading this one so wondering whether I should just continue this in the FF section or here in the thread. Please let me know how you wish to read this. This is one of the longest FFs I have ever written so would like ways to reduce my time in posting if there is not enough interest.
