Annoying as it was to watch everybody running around like chicken with their head cut off in today's episode, the only thing I did enjoy was Devyani stopping the abortion. Though cliched, Uttara's words to Devyani today were very telling..."Main is paap ko mithana chahthi hoon"...or some such. While Devyani slapped her for calling the baby a sin, I think the writers revealed Uttara's state of mind beautifully...in one line. 👍🏼 She's subconsciously trying to make amends for the sin she committed...Adi's words in particular having hit home. Killing the baby does not wipe away the aftereffects of the affair she knowingly entered in to! Uttara as a character has fallen so far down that she has a long arduous path to redemption ahead of her. Keeping the baby, for now, will make her live with the outcome of her actions. She can no longer just keep having tearful breakdowns begging for forgiveness...she is the one pregnant...no one else can handle that for her. No better way to for this character to make a turn around...if she is ever able to get there without going crazy.

Hmmm...Jaya if she can not only live a normal life but also have hots to indulge in extra marital affair that ruined her sisters life and family after murdering her husband who btw treated her worse than an animal, I don't think she has to go crazy with this pregnancy especially when Devyani and the rest have forgiven her..
It seems she is taking advantage of the fact of being a victim since Rishabs time and after moving in to Jhakar house she is making her own rules about how things should be... She justified the affair vehemently and now she is trying to have her own way by getting rid of the baby.

Ahhh Ravina...I don't feel so. She did get off easy right off the bat with everybody forgiving her and yes, getting rid of the baby was her subconscious way to erase her "problem"...not just the baby itself but also to wipe away her own sins. By keeping Uttara pregnant, I feel the writers will show her going through a lot of introspection and instability...there was a reason the Doc asked Devyani to watch out for Uttara's mental health. That said, although I wish we could see this, I am not holding my breath that Uttara will ever stop using Brahma as an excuse for her own culpability in the affair.

Agree Jaya...about cvs giving clues about mental and emotional state of the women...sigh... While UT has potential to become fully neurotic, Priya is extremely bitter, Vidya clueless and Devyani has no plans on giving up her matronliness..
At this point I am highly disappointed in how cvs are shaping up womens lives and can't wait to see Brahma and RD take the center stage..

I think they should all be very careful with uttara especially when she has the baby now that she is keping it...what if she harms the baby when it is born...I also like how the women turned out...vidya keeps saying she wants to be independant but does not do anything to get there...priya is bitter now when everything is solved instead of when it was really required, dev is still the same, no change in her...the show really has become dull and miss gaurav too

That I think is what will make Uttara's story...will she continue to keep the baby...care for the pregnancy...and eventually give the baby the love it needs.

Priya, Vidya, Devyani...I agree...boring right now. I hope Vidya moves on soon.

Yeah she cant live alone in Rohtak but definitely in Delhi/Chandigarh.
If nothing else she can become a school teacher and support herself and the kids. She has her own house.
Uttara needs to suffer like a deep fried Kareyla. She had it too easy so far.She just cant keep committing these big blunders and be forgiven after an episode of crying and hyperventilating.😡

Yes Uttara needs to pay for her sins, but there are other ways of punishing her than forcing her to keep the baby. A fine life we are talking of for the baby if its sole purpose of existence is as a reminder to the mother of her sins.

I don't know why everyone is hellbent on punishing two innocent children in all this mess. Fine, Devyani forced Uttara to keep the baby and stopped the abortion, but who is going to be the biggest sufferer - Tara and the unborn child.

Tara is not only going to have to live with the fact that her father was a good-for-nothing drunkard who used to beat her mother, but also that he pimped her. She is now going to live with a daily reminder of the fact that her mother murdered her father, had an affair with her BIL and now is going to have an illegitimate child. I see a brilliant future on the psychiatrist's couch for Tara. Obviously she is never going to fine love and acceptance in society because of her wonderful lineage. That she can never get married is a given.

The unborn child is still more to be pitied. What is its fault? It is going to grow up without a father's name. It is not going to find love and acceptance even within the family that so vociferously stopped Uttara from the abortion. Obviously, everyone is going t hate the child, from the moment it is born, its mother already does so. Its brother (Adi)already does so, and its sister (Tara) is not exactly going to be overjoyed when she hears the news, is she?

So what exactly was the achievement of this track? Why would the makers be so bold as to handle such difficult subjects as homosexuality, incest, molesting and marital violence,s top short of discussing abortion in a sane manner? And why are we condoning such a stupid act? When it is legally permissible to terminate a pregnancy if there are medical complications which might impact the life of a child, shouldn't the same logic be applied to the social environment around the child too, esp. since the fetus is still only two months old.

@Chitrashi That is exactly what I said in my post yesterday about Tara and unborn Jhakhar. They will be punished for Uttara's sins for life.

@Tvdekha - oops I seem to have missed that post, but am gald that you agree.

But coming to Uttara's folly, we understand that she needs to pay for her selfishness and her sins - but what more punishment can be meted out to the woman than the one she is already suffering.

She's lost the man she loved. She's lost the trust and respect of her family. She's lost social standing with the exposure of her affair. She's lost the love of her daughter. And now she's living on the sufferance and charity of the very people she hurt. How much lower can a woman fall?
