My friendship with Maddy goes way back to the days we did the TV show 'Ghar Jamai'. It was during those days that he had been signed by Mani Ratnam and started doing films down South. I have witnessed his rise in stature. But he has remained unchanged. He's the same grounded human being. He is a huge star in the South but one can never grudge him his success because he remains so sweet and simple. When I was asked to replace him in 'Deal Ya No Deal', I found it intimidating. I asked him if it was okay with him. If it weren't, I would not have accepted the offer.
