This question can admit two answers

Oh ye mankind,
I am confused in mind..

My father has two sons,
Born separately, not at once,

Some say I am the elder,
WHile others think me to be the younger,

Am I married to a wife?
Or a bachelor for life?

A brother I have, I can surely tell,
But some say I have sisters as well !!!

Can you guess my name?
And get on with the game?

Lord Kartikeye!

After Lord Ganesh won the divine fruit from his parents, Lord Kartikeye angrily said that he would never look at a woman again, because he felt that his mother favored her other son more.
That's why in some maharastrian temples of him, women are not permitted to enter.
But...he later on married two goddesses, Valli and Deivayanai

And some think that Saraswati and Lakshmi are also daughters of Shiva nd Parvati, making them sisters of him, while others do not

Yes of course. Both answers will be correct like Varaliji has mentioned. What an intelligent and artistic question! Brilliant!👏

Yes indeed, both Aishu and Shivang are correct.

In the northern parts of India, Kartikeya is considered the elder son (as per Skanda Puran) and Ganesh the younger one. Kartikeya is unmarried while Ganesh is said to have two wives- Riddhi (sometimes mentioned as Buddhi) and Siddhi.

While in the South, Ganesh is the Jyesha Putra of Shiva and Murugan a.k.a Kartikeya is his younger brother. Ganesh remains a bachelor (since he sees his mother, Shakti, in all females) while Murugan who has no such compunctions is happily married to Devasena (daughter of Indra) and Valli (a tribal girl) .

The first was an arranged marriage. A grateful Indra offered his daughter Devasena, to Kartikeya when the latter killed Surapadman and relased Jayendra (Indra's son) from captivity.

The second (with Valli) , a favourite with poets and songwriters, was a love marriage. As with all love stories, there is attraction, threats, clandestine meetings b/w the lovers, fear and finally the joyous union.

In Bengal, i have noticed, Lakshmi and Saraswati are considered their sisters.

I was not aware of this story. Kartikeya was no doubt angry that Ganesh tricked his way into getting the fruit and his parents happily fell for the trick, but his anger was not directed at women. (at least according to legends in Tamil Nadu) He took of his clothes, made an act of renouncing the world, and stormed his way up the Pazhani hill. After a lot of cajoling by mother Parvati who promised to give him not only mangoes but a whole lot of fruits mixed in jaggery and honey did Kartikeya condescend to come down.

Pazhani is one of the six places sacred to Muruga, where the main neivedya is Panchamritam (the sweet dish apparently concocted by Parvati to appease her sulking son)

Well that was the story that I had heard.
Also found one online that was very similar to it. Although, it is not very well written and the second sentence seems a bit, um, biased and inaccurate.

There's actually a big Skanda temple on top of the Parvati Hill in Pune, Maharastra along with several other temples, and women are not allowed in.
