Thanks Varaaliji. You could have set the questions no problem. And Vrish. Question was indeed brilliant and also the smartly used different font color for the 2nd clue.

Well here are my clues:

Some features of mine resemble those of Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu; my function or the object of my identity in a sense resembles that of one of the Trinity Goddesses; my status resembles that of Lord Indra somewhat (or his subordinates) but my strongest association on the earth is with Lord Shiva.

A relative of mine, with the powers given by Lord Shiva and Brahma took away so much of glory, prestige, powers and possessions away from me which were also used by him to trouble Lord Vishnu's incarnation and Lord gave me some of those back later.

I am also part of mythology of two other religions with different names and also am part in Lord Vishnu's story in South India and am also worshiped during a major Hindu festival sequence.

Kubera?

(If this is the right answer, please elaborate on the first & third set of clues; the second set of clues, I'm assuming, alludes to Ravan, and that's all I used to get @ this answer 😆. Oh, & first set of clues, his role is similar to that of Lakshmi - as the god of weath, while association w/ Lord Shiva is Kailash?)

If Kubera is the right answer, I know part of why the third clue is right...in Lord Vishnu's avatar of Lord Venkateswara (also called Srinivasa), who is more prominent on South India, he took a loan from Lord Kubera in order to get married to Devi Padmavathi, who was a form of goddess Lakshmi. Padmavathi was a Princess whereas Srinivasa was not a Prince, so Padmavathi's father initially refused the match, but when Kubera gave Srinivasa a loan and the latter became rich, her father agreed.

So whenever Srinivasa-Padmavathi kalyanam is celebrated, Lord Kubera is also prayed to and honored.

Yes. He is Kuber. I also thought the 2nd clue will make it easy way relatively and 3rd clue will be cracked by Janaki.😃

First clue: He is said to be having 4 hands with mace in one hand and a bit fat structure (also his wife's name Riddhi sitting on lap of his) and sits on man's shoulders (like Ram on Hanuman) or on flying Pushpak (like Vishnu on Garud). Identified with treasure/money/finance like Goddess Lakshmi. Lord of Yakshas and Gandharvas and treasury minister of Devas. Said to be having friendship with Shiva and association with Kailash.

Third clue: Mentioned in Jainism and Buddhism with some other names (my source: Google and wiki) and worshiped on Dhanteras.

My clues:

1. I was one of the many mediums in the Lord's divine play.

2. I was the son of a King, but spent many of my days in darkness.

3. Many of my marriages happened as business transactions, to bring royal families together as allies.

1st clue: Mayaivaite nihata poorvamev, nimittamaatram bhav Savyasachin

2nd clue: Early years as kid, 1 year after Lakshagruh and 12 years of exile after dhyut in forests, 1 year agyatvas and 12 years praayashchitta yatra (if any of them can be regarded as years of darkness).

3rd clue: Marriage with Draupadi and Subhadra part of political plan of Krishna and political desire of Drupad himself (first one) and other marriages of his during his praayashchitt yatra giving him friends to accompany him in Kurukshetra war and that prayashchitta yatra itself was a political play of God.
