PART 17

Some revelations...

Geet froze at the sight before her.

Maan was leaning on his chair and Dia was in his arms.She was hugging Maan and resting her head on his chest with her arms wound around his neck..

They both were sleeping and Maan's arm was around Dia's little body as if he wanted to protect her from everything..

Geet felt a tear escape her eyes..

Every night she was away from him,she had dreamt of this moment..

She wanted it to be exactly like a fairy tale..She wanted him to come back to them and hug them and take them back to his place..

Geet still remembered the day she knew that she was carrying his child.She was broken at first and wanted to meet him for once and tell him that she was a mother of his child.

She wanted answers to all her questions-if only she had not bumped into Shane..

FLASHBACK

(4 YEARS BACK)

Geet was broken.She was just 19 and she was carrying a child!!??

She had never cared about anything in life as she thought there was no control over life..For the first time in life she thought the other way around..

She knew if she wanted she could have prevented Maan from sleeping with her that night..

She felt her existence make no meaning to her..

She was broken-completely broken when she knew he would never be with her when she gave birth to his own child..

Drenched cold in rain she felt a pain in her heart.As if He was in pain-as if he was struggling for something..

She felt her vision blur and after a few seconds found herself getting dragged into darkness..

She stirred and opened her eyes.She looked around and found herself in a luxurious room.

"Where am I?"she wondered and before she could make sense a pair of arms embraced her in a tight hug.

She asked"Shane?"

He nodded her head and when she looked at his teary eyes she gasped.

"My baby-Is it alive?"she said placing her hand over her belly.

"The baby's fine Geet!"Shane said as Geet heaved a sigh of relief.

There was silence in the room and Shane finally said,"i'm sorry Geet!"

Geet looked puzzled and gave him a puzzled look.

"Shane?"Geet asked unable to understand what he tried to say.

"I should have never worked upon my schemes until I knew what Maan needed"he said.

Geet was confused now."What are you trying to say?"she asked him straight.

Shane sighed and took her hand in his and asked softly,"Do u trust me Geet?"

She nodded slowly.

Shane took something out of his pocket and handed it over to Geet.

Geet looked at the VCR Shane had given her.

Shane led Geet to the player he had in his room and made geet sit on the love seat and pressed the play button.

It was a cafe-to be correct Shane's father owned chains of cafes across the globe and in each cafe they had a video camera to record what the customers were saying.It was more for security functions because Shane's father had many rivals and the cameras were hidden from the customers.

She saw no point why Shane was showing this.Yet remained silent.

Maan was seated on a table and Lisa sat across him.

He threw her a thousand dollar rupee note and said,"Is this enough?"

Lisa smiled slyly and said "Okay!"

Maan said,"Dont forget..After a month..New York university"and was about to get up when Lisa said,"One minute Maan!"

He sat down and asked,"what?"

"Maan I know u want me to act as your fake girlfriend but do you mind explaining why?I mean It'll be easy for me to fit into that character"

Maan sighed and said,"When I was 17,I fell for a girl and had a physical relationship with her.As a result she became pregnant with my kid.I lost my parents at an young age and I didn't want my child to suffer without a father..I wanted to give him/her the love which was lacked to me.

"I begged that girl not to kill my child..But..she did!"Maan said with his eyes spitting fire.

"Go on!"Lisa urged

"So I wanted to avenge her.I wanted to make her family suffer..know the pain of losing a loved one..I made a plan.I got hold of her sister Geet..I knew that she was the only closest relative Sam had.I chose her as my new target.I wanted to cheat her.

"I came to know that she was in New York on a scholarship.I persuaded my bro to let me go to NYC ..And I met her!"Maan said as he laughed crazily.

"Poor soul,I made her fall for me..And then..U know..I took her to bed-raped her and then left her alone!!God knows how much she must have cried on the phone call with Sam!"and laughed again.

Lisa sensed that this time the laughter was laced with pain and hatred and guilt.Is it possible he was in love with that girl.She was in the same college as his and has noted Maan stealing glances at Geet occasionally.

She shrugged it off and then said,"What will you do this whole month?"

"I'll stay inside my house"he replied.

"What about your car?"she asked him.

He thought for a while and then replied "u can have the car Lisa"before leaving the cafe..

Shane jerked Geet who was now crying silently at the revelation.

He had never loved her..

It was too harsh for her to handle..

She looked at Shane and collapsed into his arms crying..

PRESENT

Geet jerked back to reality and wiped the tears that hed started rolling.

Sighing she went towards Maan and woke him up.

"Maan sir"she called out slowly and Maan opened his eyes.

He looked around the room and found that he must have dozed off.

He checked the time and told Geet,"Geet I'll drop u home tonight!"

She didn't say anything and just lifted Dia from his lap and walked away from him..again..

Once Geet faints,Shane is just passing the road and sees Geet unconscious.Moreover he wants to tell Geet that he had accidentally checked all the video cams of his cafe and had cum 2 knw the true face of Maan.He takes her to his room and reveals everything..
