PART 24

The next day morning Sudesh as usual went for a walk .

After completing his walk he sat on the bench of the park , then Geet saw Sudesh and waved her hand with broad smile

Good Morning Uncle

Ohh Good morning young lady ,Nice to see you again.

Same here uncle

So you weren't late yesterday right?? Or were you??

What to say Uncle...yesterday I got late by 10 mins and that too on the same day when my boss was really very angry.

Some things come in a package I tell you!!!

Sudesh laughed.

It's ok Geet beta It's all common in a job.

True Uncle, but I'm lucky the whole staff including my boss ,all are very humble.

Ohh..that's really a very good thing Geet and it's a very important factor .

You know what Geet beta ,if he prople around us aren't good it gets hard to survive no matter how beautiful and expensive is the environment we live in.

Yeah Uncle ,you are right ,even I never knew that I would find such people in my life she said while thinking about Maan.

Sudesh saw a different kind of glow on her face while smiling.

He somewhat understood the reason behind her smile.

Geet saw him smiling at her ,Uncle what happened??

No no uncle I... I was not thinking about him...she bit her tongue after uttering those words.

Sudesh patted her shoulder and smiled comfortably.

Geet went to her house and got ready ,pinky and Geet both left for the office ,While Geet was in the metro she remembered the morning conversation with Sudesh ,How strange is that she thought ,It's so strange that she keeps on relating and linking each and everything to Maan.

The day was busy for the whole staff.

Maan approved the designs made by Geet..and all were busy for the meeting that is going to happen in 2 days .All were also busy in the presentation process.

Geet went out to get some files.

Just then a girl with a modern western outfit came to her just before the office was about to over.

Excuse me , Where's the MD's cabin.

Geet showed her the direction and continued with her work .

After few minutes Geet went into Maan's cabin regarding some work .

She saw the same girl still in the cabin ,she smiled at her.

Geet accha hua you are here ..I wanted to introduce you to her.

Geet she is Vaishali my old college friend and she came from Mumbai.

Vaishali ,She is Geet a very good friend of mine ,she also works as an architect here.

Hi Geet ,nice to meet you

Maan was just talking about you and you came .

Vaishali ,I have a little work I need to talk to Adi ,I'll be back in 10 mins and you talk to Geet.

Maan left the cabin leaving Vaishali and Geet there.

So Geet ,from how long are you working here??

I just joined recently Vaishali.

Ohh so you know Maan even before joining the office

Yeah ,we met during his trip to a small town where he came for photography purpose.

Ohh..!! Yeah Photography!!

Maan is crazy about it ,even during the college days whenever we used to go out with a group ,he used to carry his camera along with him and click all the kinds of pictures.

And you know what Geet I feel very lucky to have a friend like Maan ,college mein bhi everone was his friend . He is a gem of a person ,I miss him a lo!! WOh sabke saath kitne acche se rehta hai!!

Geet smiled and felt very happy for him.

Just between their conversation Maan came back.

Geet stood up ,Maan I'll leave ,enjoy with your friend.

Geet ,why are you leaving so soon??

Areh ,you both met after a long time ,just spend some time together ,I'leave

Bye ,she smiled and left.

Geet went to the park where she usually waited for Maan after her office ,but one thing that kept revolving in Geet's mind were Vaishali's words.

So true she was Geet thought ...Maan can bring smile on anyone's face ,a wonderful human being .

She thought.

She saw a man with a small child in the metro ,that itself reminded her of Maan's interaction with the village children while clicking their photographs.

Geet felt strange that everything around her started to remind her of Maan.

Geet why does everything remind you of him ,why is he always in my mind ??

Geet sat down in the park

May be because he is very friendly with you...but he is friendly with everyone ,all his friends so why do I always think about him??

There's no single day after her breakdown where Maan was not in her thoughts.

Earlier they were different ,but now strangely things are changing.

Why do I feel like spending more time with Maan ,talking to him...I feel so incomplete if I don't talk to him for a single day!!

Geet closed her eyes but couldn't stop her mind from thinking about that person who became a part of her life unknowingly ,but she realized that Maan carries a very special place in all of his friends heart and may be she is like all the others ,so ,why do I always think about him !!

What am I doing?? If I let anyone in my life all they can see is pain ..emptiness nothing more than that .

I can't let Maan enter my silent and empty life ,especially a person whose life is filled with beauty and colours

I just can't!!!

Maan deserves a much better life , not the the bitterness of my life .

I can't let my silence enter anyone's life.

Never!!!

Geet's eyes were filled with sudden tears.

Hey ,Maan tapped on her shoulder suddenly.

Geet was shocked to see him ,she turned away and quickly wiped her tears to avioud un-necessary attention from Maan.

She pretended to smile ,see I'm back!!

She tried very hard to smile .

Vaishali chali gayi??

Haan...you know what woh abhi bhi nahi badly she is still the bubbl ,carefree girl ..mujhe laga ki badi ho gayi hogi par woh abhi bhi bacchii hai!!

Maan smiled without noticing Geet.

Maan took out the camera from his bag .

Geet .

Just look at these plants and bushes , Concentrate on these plants, leaves and bushes ,just look at them through the camera ,he handled the camera to her ..see it seems like sun is hiding between the bushes.

They seem so close yet they are so far.

That's what Geet was feeling.

Maan was standing very close to her yet they were very far

He was adjusting the camera that was in her hands .

She could feel his hands on hers ...his face was close to that of hers .

His lips near her ears...Geet started to feel restless , ,she gulped , She was unable to concentrate on what Maan was telling her .

Maan kept adjusting the camera and changing the position of her hands being completely unware of Geet's feelings.

He stood very close to her yet how distinct they both are, she felt..her eyes became red.

Her eyes turned completely red ,she was not able to concentrate on anything,the thoughts of her to restrict herself from entering Maan's life were itself making her more helpless.

She herself didn't know what she wanted at that moment.

He came more closer ,his lips almost touched her hair but he quickly moved back with a smile still unaware of what she was going through ,she wanted to run away from everything ,she couldn't bear more closeness ...because it was only getting more and more harder and difficult for her to stay away from him , all her thoughts and wishes were burning her.

She suddenly moved back Maan I need to leave !!

Geet what happened??

Maan ,I need to leave she repeated

Geet but...

Maan maine kaha na mujhe jaana hai!! Her pitch increased

Okk Geet I'll drop you

No Maan ..I'll go by myself please!!

Geet went away from there leaving a confused Maan behind.

She almost ran from there with here tears flowing from her eyes.

Why is geet doing this to herself? if maan can help her to come to this point, i am sure he will remove the thoughts lurking in her head? but why suddenly is she thinking that her life is mundane and colourless? me not following this point?
