Pratigya is not only a super hit amongst the fairer sex, but is also watched and adored by the male brigade of this country. We are not saying it; these are the words of the leading lady of the show, gorgeous Pooja Gor.

"Whenever I go to any mall, I meet men who tell me that their wives watch television all day but they join in only to watch Pratigya," informs Pooja.

Pooja feels that it is the Allahabadi flavor of the show and well-written characters, like Sajjan Singh, Krishna, Shakti, amongst others, that draw men towards it. "Furthermore, I think this is for the first time when a daily soap is looking beyond mere entertainment. Pratigya has been creating awareness on varied issues over the years like eve teasing, dowry, female foeticide and others. Currently, the show is revolving around a bahu who has been thrown out of the house for being mentally imbalanced, which is not acceptable. She is not some piece of furniture," says Pooja.

The actress further went on to say that men like the show as they also want their wives and daughters to fight for their rights. Furthermore, Pooja, donning the mantle of a true feminist, tagged most Indian men as "male chauvinist pigs by nature." Whoa'tough words. And it continues' "Let's face it, men always want to dominate. But why should woman suffer due to male egos?" asks Pooja.

Hmmm' we support you Pooja. Absolutely. But when quizzed why Pratigya doesn't try to solve problems faced in real life by commoners, Pooja went on to clarify, "We are ultimately part of an entertainment channel and there is only so much we can do. I hope in the future we can join hands with some news channel or National Geographic to jointly create an initiative in this regard."

Sounds great, Pooja. After all, nari shakti rules!!!
