Buffie dear...we have had enough of debate about aamir. so i dont want to say more..but really aamir does not know anything about narmada project and he really does not know that these people were once given relocation which they refused to take and anyways, i am not going to say more..but i think aamir is just getting cheap publicity out of this and i will believe him only when he does something rather than just givinge some speaches and interviews and annoucement and dragging attention of whole india abotu issue that has been there since decades before i was born and now suddenly whole india know about it why? 'coz super star aamir khan wants to speak about somethign he does not even know. 😆

If Aamir wanted cheap publicity, he would have chosen an issue where political tempers would not be frayed....the whole of Bollywood kowtows before Bal Thackeray and he belongs to the Hindutva lobby which is a powerful force in Mumbai...no actor would want to take panga with them... and BJP is allied with the Shiv sena...so getting on the wrong side of BJP means offending Thackeray...even Sanjay Dutt, whose dad refused to bend before Thackerya, had to seek his "blessings" just to stay out of further trouble.

So Aamir has actually challenged the "big bosses" of the film industry by taking up this issue.....perhaps that's why Bollywood ddi not openly support him in the beginning...they crawled out of the woodwork only after Aamir went to the media and the ppl of India showed their support to him.

that's the whole point blyton. Eventhough you thought there would be so much political pressure he is not doing wrong. He is still supported by government of india under freedom of speech. And eventhough BJP and bal thackery go hand in hand i bet you in this particular case bal thackrey would not be much supportive to BJP...you may know it why. And Aamir on other hand is trying to speak for things that he hardly know anything about. And becuase of him i agree with bluelotus here that due to image of these actors ignorant people who does even know about sardar sarovar kind of support ammir khan that he is right people should be given relocation. Do these aamir khan fan supporters even know anything about sardar sarover? do they know they these people were given relocation and then tehy refused 'coz some individual parties dont want this damn for ecology and personal reason told them dont take this bull shit relocation and they said we dont want it and now they are left with nothing. do you know some of these people 've suied such parties that 'coz of them they are left with nothing now? so aamir khan basically know nothing about such people. i said before relocation hurt, but is not life threatening. ask people in some parts of guarat where in dessert of kutch they dont even get water for 1o days...this is sitation of well to to family not those thin, cage, skeleton poor people. I think aamir has really messed up and making this dam building so slow which ofcourse is slow by decades...😕 and i am concern about janta who does not know what aamir is saying is supporting him "ONLY" 'coz aamir khan says so thats my concern.

Well, you are right here that ignorant ppl may simply go against the dam issue because a star is aginst it.
However, Aamir never opposed the dam as such. He has vry clearly said that he is only raising his voice for the rehabilitaion of the ppl dispalced by the dam. The fact is that there are still niggling issues in the Sardar SArovar project that need to be sorted out...and there have been debates on whether big dams are beneficial in the first place. Basically, Aamir is just giving his perspective, which had been gleaned from the agaition of the Narmada Bachao Andolan. Now whether the activists themselves are right or wrong is till now a matter of debate...but that should not stop a citizen for expressing his views and his support if need be. Aamir has expreseed his views as a citizen of India, not a star. This entire issue would not have got so much publicity if the BJP hadnt tried to stall the screening of Fanaa. Violent tactics are by no means justifid; coercion and intimidation are not the principles of a democratic society. I feel that if anyone has sought publicity in this issue, it is the BJP and not Aamir.
